Mike De Luca, former head of production at New Line Studios and producer of the upcoming 21, starring Kevin Spacey, is a fan of comics and videogames, and specifically thinks that making a film version of Metal Gear Solid is a great idea. So much so, in fact, that he's working on developing it, and taking pitches from writers about a potential script.

Sure, none of this is new information, but the fact that De Luca is as far along as he is with the project is nice to know. Seems he's going to settle on a script in the not-too-distant future, and then get on to actually making this thing. As a matter of fact, in the interview at the source of this story, he says that they are looking forward to making an official announcement on the film in the next six weeks. Exciting!
