Saw an advance screening of 21 Jump Street with a Q&A by stars Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Ice Cube, and Rob Riggle afterward. Now, I may be one of those few people that actually fond the trailer funny. But I never would have thought it was going to be this funny. Several, and I mean SEVERAL, laugh out loud moments and some genuinely good action scenes. Plus, the thing you don't... get from the trailer is that it is self-aware in this meta kind of way and it makes it work in a surprisingly smart way. The chemistry between Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum is spot on and they are both very good. The scrip is both hilariously R-rated while also being sweet and charming at times. A full on full price. One of the biggest surprises of the year. Go see it
