Hey guys, its that time of year again. The stores are pimping Christmas sh*t, all the damn leaves are falling, and it's cold as hell. The holidays are here. Let’s run through some of the baddest and best video games of the year on our favorite consoles that are worth your cash.

Assassin’s Creed:Revelations

The great Ezio saga has come to a close. This game shows the return of some of our favourite characters, while introducing new environments, gadgets, and drama. A badass conclusion that is great to look at and play. This is a must-have for fans of the series and the multiplayer is epic as ever in this game, all around a great value.

Batman Arkham City

Arkham Asylum gave all of us a pretty huge nerdgasm, but Arkham city takes it to the next level! (No but seriously catwoman’s got dat ass!) This game actually lives up to the years of hype and is a glorifying experience for any comic fans. Not just an outstanding game, but by far the best superhero gaming experience to date. Buy, buy, buy!

Battlefield 3

Ok, so this is a game that didn’t live up to it’s hype completely. The campaign is nothing more than a poor man’s MW and MW is kinda someone else’s poor man itself. But the graphics are uber-realistic, the weapons are indeed kickass, and the multiplayer is one hell of a good time. If your a shooting man, this is a game worth your time.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Skyrhum, bitches! AKA the anti-COD is here and it’s absolutely stunning. The most beautiful and open worlds you’ll see in gaming today, a completely personalized experience, and dragons everywhere. Even if you’re not into RPG’s this might be your gateway drug, you’ll be raiding all day, every day.

Forza Motorsport 4

It’s been some time since a truly excellent racing game has hit the scene, but alast Forza is back. One of the best crafted games I’ve ever played- everything is crisp, polished, and exciting. The best racing game on the market, this is easily the top choice for any racing fan or 360 owner.  

 Gears of War 3

 The third part of the Gears of War franchise is not only the best in the series, its one of the best shooters this year. Stellar multiplayer and the return of the beloved Horde mode, this is a great for any Gears fan and ends the series on a high note.

Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection

Two remarkable games, restored in HD goodness. Great gift for gamers who’ve been out of the loop for a while and want to jump back in. For only 40 buck on amazon, you can’t go wrong.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Remember your white dusty box that plays netflix, well it plays games! Nintendo purists and gamers alike can gather around the screen and enjoy the beauty of skyward sword. Simply a miracle for zelda fans, a real culmination of what the series has come to mean. The updated motion controld for the wiimote make it the experience of the year, breathtaking in every way-plus it comes with a badass music CD.   

Super Mario 3D land

Mario has always been nintendo’s shinning franchise. With the exceptional string of console platformers going from Super Mario 64 to Galaxy,and  Mario Land 3D is no exception. The game is challenging, artistic, and as always fun for all ages. This is a great gift for anyone. This along with the promising MK7 (Mario Kart 7) are reasons to own a 3DS.

Portal 2

The sequel to the great puzzler that blew us all away. Portal 2 improves on all cylinders. The story is smart, the puzzles are unique, and the voice acting and character writing are among the best in gaming today. It’s a funny and challenging game that will have you playing straight through until completion. One of the best this year.

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception

Uncharted 3 is THE reason to own a playstation 3. This game is just fantastic. You will be gazing at the beauty the developers put into the cutscenes and environment. You’ll laugh and cry with the amazing writing. And you’ll have a great time with the inventive multiplayer-a must have for PS3 owners and if you aren’t it’s problably time to get one. Yep it’s just that good.
