Two More Added To 'Days Of Future Past' Cast

Much of the casting news thus far on Bryan Singer's  'X-Men: Days of Future Past' has centered on returning faces from franchise past. That's not to say there hasn't been a single franchise rookie announced, Peter Dinklage ('Game of Thrones') was revealed to be coming aboard not so long ago in an as-yet-undisclosed villain role. Now it appears that two more rookies are about to suit up for the 'X-Men: First Class' followup. Booboo Stewart ('Twilight') and Fan Bingbing ('Bodyguards and Assassins') are the latest additions. Though Stewart's character has not yet been announced, Bingbing is evidently playing a character named Blink, an unstable mutant with the power to teleport. Last week, James McAvoy seemed to let slip that another teleporting character, Alan Cumming's Nightcrawler, would also be appearing, but Cumming has since denied his return. 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' is scheduled to hit theaters July 18th, 2014.

The story here, despite the hilarity of the names of these two new cast additions, is not so much the who as much as the how. Bryan Singer tweeted a picture from the production office, a picture that showed a wall of collected headshots from the actors in his cast. He was listing the number of awards his assembled cast had racked up, and it was in this pic that the new additions were first noticed. The specifics about Fan Bingbing's character were later revealed via THR, but this photo is really how the news first got out there. Once again, Singer seems committed to including fans in every step of the process. I'm interested to see what Singer does with Blink, and I'm sure Bingbing will do a great job. I'm a little concerned about a 'Twilight' cast member coming aboard, but then again Anna Kendrick, whom I love, was in some of those movies so I guess I can't broadstroke write them all off. Going back to the photo for a moment, can we assume, by the placement of the photos, that Singer has six more slots to fill?

What do you guys think of these new additions? Who might Booboo play? What other characters does Singer still potentially need to cast?

@ John Lemus . Phew, I'm glad I'm not the only one. With all due respect to Singer I was really hoping for some new blood. Then Hearing Hale Berry will return as storm was the one two punch for me. I'll wait for more news, but I ain't exactly looking forward to it.

So I'm guessing Bryan Singer is the ONLY director they want to handle X-Men movies? Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

I figured Bingbing was going to play either Jubilee or Psylocke. But I've always liked Blink so that's cool. From what I understand Alan Cumming isn't coming back. Him and Singer didn't get along well during the making of X2.

Blink: The pink version of Nightcrawler.

I hope her inclusion doesn't mean Azazel & Nightcrawler won't be back....
