Last night, I finally beat Dark Souls. I had to start four different characters until I got a build that worked for me, and my total play time (which included the DLC and all optional areas and bosses) came out to about 80 hours on the character that I beat the game with.
It was 80 hours well spent.

You're too kind Jeff; this wasn't even needed. Anyone who complains about the difficulty or "lack of teaching" in this game is a casual pleb and should be left to their delusions, man.
