Having seen how much fun u guys had with this game in the Happy Hour, and having been completely hooked on it myself since I got it last weekend, I'm pretty surprised just how critical u guys (especially Jeff) are here. My only complaint about the gunplay is that there's not enough of it - u can certainly get into cover no problem if u know what ur doin, u can slide into cover from a distance for gods sake - but I think it's a ballsy move by the developers to make an open world sandbox game that relies almost entirely on hand to hand combat. Imagine how much of a GTA clone u'd accuse it of being if, like every other sandbox game all u did was shoot the whole time?

And the gta clone thing is reeeally gettin old now. Sandbox is a genre all of it's own now, simple. Is every platformer from the last 20 years a Mario Bros clone? No, so this tired excuse to run down perfectly decent games is just lazy, plus this game, whilst obviously falling short of the megabucks Rockstar franchises in certain regards,brings a lot of stuff to the table that Niko Bellick and co coud never do. Sandbox is about freedom, variety, and violence, and this game has it all in spades. It might not be as 'classy' as GTA4, but to be honest I'm having more fun playing it and I'm more involved in the story and characters, which, yes, are ripped from countless genre movies, just like Rockstar's been making their bread and butter for almost a decade now whilst abandoning the fun aspect from their games as soon as Niko Bellick started prattling on about mass graves of headless babies or whatever the fuck it was.

@Crytex

I played the game on extreme + High Res texture pack and I second your opinion. The game was fucking beautiful and ran at a solid 60fps.

I enjoyed using the cover system when every I would die and appear in the hospital/clinic. I hid behind the counter and unloaded on HKPD... Cover system works great!

@Frank

I barely killed any civilians when driving around. I wonder if it has to do with your guys being American since the roads in China are half the size of American roads

Liked Nicks review for this.

Very insightful. And he knows his shit.

Brought a good perspective to the review.
