I always love a good haunting, don't you? It's one of my favorite subsets of the horror genre and if this first trailer for 'The Awakening' is to be believed, it will be another stellar haunting film that will find favorable purchase in the hearts of horrorphiles. Creepy location, unsettling toys, and a little ghost kid? Commence the hairs on my arm and neck standing on end. The film is already garnering comparisons to 'The Orphanage,' but to me it looks more similar in tone, content, and possibly theme, to Guillermo del Toro's 'The Devil's Backbone.' If you haven't seen 'The Devil's Backbone,' correct this at once and then watch the trailer for 'The Awakening' and tell us what you think.

'The Awakening' hits theaters limited on August 10th

Problem is we've seen so many scary films, now for a film to be interesting it needs to be real scary or offer a 'this hasn't been done before' scenario. And this trailer fails to show either.

ok ok, a movie set in england in the 1920s called the Awakening.  I'm sorry, but doesn't anyone remember the novel they might have read for their summer reading list in high school?  It's been over a decade for me, but as I remember it, there weren't no goddamn ghosts in that fucking book.

BORING.

I hate it when the trailer gives the while movie away! Umbridge killed her class, and now the class is coming back from the dead for revenge.
