Comment by Peter Hall on April 5, 2012 at 12:33am Since I finally made an account, I can actually respond to I.Koval. I croak like a bullfrog because I never learned to laugh. Thanks for noticing.
Comment by Mr. Bungle on March 30, 2012 at 10:46pm Decided to give Footloose a shot after your guys recommendation, gotta say, it was a lot of fun! I totally had my reservations before, but you guys and the movie wiped that away. Keep up this podcast, you guys are definitely pushing me and I bet others in some movies we would have never seen otherwise!
Comment by Mainstream12 on March 27, 2012 at 1:12pm Holy crap, I remember Voyage of the Mimi. I thought it was just our class, but I guess it was a gifted thing. We watched it on Laserdisc.
Comment by David Johnson on March 26, 2012 at 4:30pm I concur Rubicon was a fascinating show. Seems like AMC will put the axe to anything that shows promise. I can't believe how much the ride Mad Men. They could dole out a little more money to shows like Breaking Bad, Walking Dead and to great project like Rubicon and be a VERY successful network. Instead, they are the network that continually breaks my heart.
Comment by Hot Tub Spill Machine on March 26, 2012 at 4:06pm This is one of the best podcasts on Spill! Love all you guys! P.S Cyrus is right on The Descendants
Comment by AACRO on March 25, 2012 at 4:55am Cyrus and co. this a is such a great podcast, keep up the good work.
also note that the visual look of Wizards is influenced by Vaughn Bode.
Comment by Mr. Bubbles on March 24, 2012 at 3:35pm While I agree that The Killing fell off pretty hard, one thing that keeps floating around really needs to be cleared up. The showrunner did not promise that the mystery would be solved in season 1. That was the fault of AMC's marketing team. I agree that it should have went that way, and that the finale is terrible, but I really feel like its not entirely fair to blame people for promises that they never made.
Comment by StevenSpillberg74 on March 23, 2012 at 8:34am Thanks for another great podcast - I really enjoyed listening to Peter Hall (he sounds like a younger version of Luke if yo ask me) and I completely concur with his critique of "Melancholia". I was left with my chest rattling watching it just on my home stereo speakers on a 21" screen so to have seen that in a cinema, would have blown my head off :)
Brian Salisbury for president btw. Or Cyrus.
Comment by Haron Dick on March 22, 2012 at 6:35pm Got to say, I'm starting to really love this Podcast.
Comment by Nick on March 22, 2012 at 6:26pm I just wanna say I hate the argument made in the Melancholia bit that just because someone is in a good position in life means that they have nothing to be depressed about and therefore you can't empathize with them. I was really, really depressed for much of my life and that was one of the main things making it worse, repeating to myself "You have a roof over your head, plenty of food and a good family, what the FUCK do you have to be sad about you whiny little bitch?" ad nauseum. I didn't understand that it was a mental health issue and not purely a cause and effect situation, and as consequence it fucked me up BAD, and very nearly killed me last year. I think Leon touched on this in the audio review for Melancholia, with it being a sickness and not just a reaction to a shitty situation. Just wanted to reiterate as someone who's recovering from chronic depression.
Also I haven't gotten to check the actual film out yet, but it's #2 on my list after Game of Thrones season 1. Stellar Podcast as always!
