@Leon, Cyrus, and Co-Host: @Spill Crew, I watched this film in theatres a few months back and just finished listening to your audio review.  I don't understand how you guys had a difficult time understanding anything that's happened in the film.  The politics are old-school and the language was more contemporary than Shakespearean.  The betrayal and downfall of Coriolanus is very basic stuff if you follow the actions of the characters involved rather than focusing specifically on their words.

Also, did you guys notice that no one in the play and in this film adaptation performs a soliloquy?

One last thing, the cinematographer and sound designer/engineer both worked with Ralph Fiennes on The Hurt Locker, which explains why the action scene near the film's beginning is similar to action sequences in The Hurt Locker.

And why do others complain about the film's length?  It's 2 hours with the end credits.  Sheesh!

How complicated does the dialogue get? I mean, I can follow Romeo & Juliet fairly well, but then stuff like the Tempest gets kinda hard to understand for me... Any comments from those who've seen the movie or read the play would be much appreciated.

i absolutely love this play, and although i only manged to see a bootlegged copy of this i absolutely loved it and really want to see it again on the big screen.

why dont movies have intermissions like 7 samurai did i find it can get hard to sit threw movies where i need to read subtitles or have to translate strong ascents and Shakespeare for 3 and a half hours or more
