UPDATE! Thanks to user None of Your Business who alerted us to this article where we get a better look at the new vehicle and as it turns out, it's not the Batwing at all: It's the BATCOPTER! Harry over at AICN has apparently had it confirmed to him that the chopper's blades will be digitally added in post-production, which makes quite a lot of sense - it would be quite expensive to build an actual helicopter and without the blades you can film in much tighter areas and locales (particularly those with crowds or extras) without worrying about accidental decapitations or the like. Here's the video:

Okay, all together now... GET TO DA BAT-CHOPPAAAAAAAA!!!

While this leaked image of what fans assumed was the new Batwing from 'The Dark Knight Rises' has been floating around the internet for the last day or so...

...we have not only brand new images that show the new vehicle in all it's glory, but actual honest-to-god video evidence:

And here are a slew of images from the shooting at Wabash Tunnel in Pittsburgh that show the new vehicle (and the car rig underneath that is used for filming that will most likely be edited out in post), and the object of pursuit - Catwoman herself on either Batman or Bane's "Batpod". The angular, almost Hunter/Killer looking Batwing shares a similar shape and style to the Tumbler, leading fans to speculate that this may be yet another conversion of Batman's signature vehicle (much like how the Batpod was introduced):

Directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, and Anne Hathaway, 'The Dark Knight Rises' arrives in theaters on July 20th, 2012.

Looks like a damn Michael Bay decepticon. STILL: Very very excited for this movie. These are only people on the street filming it with their cameras. It's gonna look way different in the final movie. I just hope it doesn't get too ridiculous. I have great faith in Christopher Nolan though.

Just wondering where on the top are the blades going to go, and yes, does it transform from a Tumbler 2.0 model?

@nangle

Are you saying that Batman owning a "batcopter" is a bit unbelievable in Nolan's universe? I think it makes sense that Batman would have an aerial vehicle. After all, he can't be gliding around everywhere with his cape, now can he? ;-)

THE FIRST BATCOPTER IN ACTION!!! and with autopilot!!
Don't know about you all ..but I'd take this batcopter over Nolan's any day!!! why? Cause not only do you get a bat ladder with label...you also get repellent spray ...If the Dark Knights Nolan copter had some cat repellent we wouldn't  have to be chasing her around the city now would we?
