Look kids movies have poop jokes, Mr. Poppers penguins, Cars 2, Judy Booty and the not bummer Hummer, etc etc, yea kids love poop and piss jokes, that's been around since the dawn of time, it's not mean spirited, does it belong in a smurfs movie, well the Smurfs don't belong in New York, so all bets are already off.
I'll tell you what I found mean spirited Gargamel getting T Bagged by Azrael, "I never realized you were a boy"
Comment by Cilliandrew on August 3, 2011 at 6:57pm @Saucy Pants:
I think Mr. Dandy said it about as well as I could. Gargamel pissing doesn't belong in a Smurfs movie. I'm sorry. That's not the type of humour i would expect, based on the cartoon. It's all about context.
Comment by Collin Mckinney on August 3, 2011 at 6:31pm This looks like the biggest peice of smurf i've ever seen
Smurf this movie
this is some ol bull smurf! XD
Just wanted to throw a smurf pun since no one else did it in the comments.

So you handed someone a bucket of poop on the way to your mailbox today? LOL I think it's about the context of the movie. A bucket of pee isn't so mean for say Scarface or Jason Voorhees. It's probably just about right for a Monty Python film. But it is a lot meaner (or perhaps just cruder) than what I think we were expecting from Gargamel in a Smurfs movie.
Comment by Mr.Dandy on August 3, 2011 at 1:09pm When they announced this movie, can't help but think of that SNL sketch..."For legal purposes, 'Smurfs' may be changed to 'Blurfs'."
Co-Host, you said all that probably needs to be said. They pulled an f'n He-Man on us! This could have been a really cool fantasy period piece with some heart and real adventure. Instead, it sounds and looks like a (very) poor-man's Enchanted. Imagine if Pixar or Studio Ghibli had gotten this film to make? Now, like Transformers, a thing that I really loved as a kid will be remembered for this really slick and totally lame rendition. Ah, Peyo. Ah, humanity.

Really you thought Gargamel pissing in the bucket was mean spirited? Out of curiosity you don't watch many movies do you? infact you don't leave the house much do you, I've seen far more mean spirited things then that just walking to the mailbox today.
Comment by Cilliandrew on August 2, 2011 at 12:39am I took my 5 year old to see this one. At the point where Gargamel was in the restaurant pissing, my kid turned to me and actually asked if we could leave.
That scene right there was VERY mean-spirited, if you ask me. What does pissing have to do with the Smurfs?
We left at that point. My son begged me to leave. That's all you need to know about this one!!
