I'm realizing that just to be crystal frelling clear on this, I should specifically mention what this 'best of'
listing thingee that I'm spreading out over ten posts means to me. I'm not trying to tell you that these are the best ten films of the year in any sort of overall sense. I'm not saying these are the ones that will have the widest appeal. I'm saying that these are MY top ten favorite films of the year.
Now that THAT'S out of the way, surely no one will call me an… Continue

Sex. It sells. But not well enough to keep the CBS show “Swingtown”
, a show about swingin’ couples in the seventies, on the air for more than a season. I’m a guy who despite an alarming lack of sexual experience has a disturbing amount of knowledge about it. I’ve read “Fear of Flying”

I have discovered a problem with putting out my top ten list one entry at a time. I have to come uncomfortably face-to-face with the endless depths of my own laziness and put a new one up one day that's more than just a poster, the name of the movie and the numerical rating. I have a feeling the Spill Evil Overlords
would take away my lolcats
if I started half-assing to that degree.
I'm actually not as lazy as all that. The thing is, I just finally got my hands on a… Continue

, how I hate putting these together. Here's my top list of the only other things I hate worse at the end of the year than having to put together top lists:
1-Realizing I'm that much older.
2-It's cold, dammit. Cyrus
is a tropical beast.
3-More often than not, no time with my family who lives far away.
4-For some reason,… Continue

Film snob? Yeah. maybe I’m a bit of one by the standards of most. All that really means is, that I’ve seen A LOT of movies, many more than your casual viewer or even your average self proclaimed ‘movie buff’
. Sure I get a bit of attitude sometimes. I get snarky. Sitting through yet another carbon copy Jim Carrey
film or nonsensical Adam Sandler goofy-voice-a-thon
holds no value to me anymore. I’ve seen it too many times already. When I get into my blackest movie… Continue

That's right, it's a bonus LEOG. Not a full one, mind you, but a slightly abbreviated mini-episode we're calling the 2008 Xmas Bonus. Check it out and check out the League Lounge
now with a post up with questions for… Continue

I know some of you out there are die-hards. Your refuse to give in to the truth which is plainly before your faces...
is a giant sell-out who doesn't give two shits about the Star Wars
universe beyond how much money he can make off it.
I thought for sure you'd all see the light after the atrocious Clone Wars
, but still, unbelievably, some of you still hang on. So I'm… Continue

And now here's Beau's breakdown of each of the episodes to help you find what you are looking for (which, I'm sure, will someday be completed)
AMERICA'S MOST DIFFERENT PODCAST!! THE MIGHTY LEAGUE OF EXTREMELY ORDINARY GENTLEMEN!!!!
LEOG 1 w/ special guest: Beau!
Like podcasts? Confidentially, we here at Spill refer to them as “public masturbation”! And,… Continue

It's the League of Extremely Ordinary Gentlemen Issue #19
: "Blue Christmas"
. That's blue as in "completely inappropriate for children (and probably anyone else)"
and not a reference to Blue Beetle
or Blue Devil
. Although, now that I think about it, we do talk about Elvis
along with Secret Invasion
, Dark Reign
, TV shows dead and alive, and more disparate topics than any sane group of people would try to cram into one… Continue

A remake of "The Crow"
? Already? It's only been fourteen years since the original film version of James O'Barr
's stunning and haunting graphic novel killed it's star, Brandon Lee
. Perhaps the entire proceedings just seemed too morbid for some, but I was one of those completely won over by director… Continue

Sure, I was excited by the thought of an "Avatar the Last Airbender"
live-action movie. A possible trilogy? No question, excited. This American anime-style animated series really took me by surprise when I was browbeaten into watching it by Spill
members. The story is of a world run by the magic using martial artists who get their powers from one of the four elements (fire, water, earth, wind) and the little boy who is the… Continue

How is it that Jackson Publick (aka Christopher McCulloch)
and co know exactly how to hit the right buttons with me. Isn't it enough that their cartoon, the sublimely wonderful "The Venture Brothers"
is probably my favorite cartoon ever? That it makes me… Continue

I’m a Lostie
. That's why this is gonna be the longest review post I've ever done. I make no apologies and I don’t have to. Lost
is STILL one of the best shows on TV. I’m not the only one to say so either. It continues to get fantastic ratings, and be showered with praise and awards. No season has… Continue

. The longest running science fiction television show in the world. The original run was 26 years with seven different actors playing The Doctor
. There was an attempt to bring him back in 1996 with the Eighth Doctor, Paul McGann
, that was a co-production between British TV and the Fox network but predictably, it… Continue

Sometimes they don’t have to change much for the title of the porn version. I know I wasn’t the only one thinking it. However, unlike Korey
isn’t my favorite porn company so I’ll have to get that
review from him. But enough about that, what about the actual movie, the fallen superhero tale starring Will… Continue

I religiously watched the first five seasons of "24". I know, for me it's weird. There's no question that this is a republican jerk-off of a show with a lead character who regularly defends torture and running roughshod over the Constitution and Bill of Rights. But I can enjoy it AS a fantasy. I only worry about the jack-offs you hear about who take it seriously. Regardless, for my money, the show jumped the shark in the sixth season almost immediately. I got about 6 hours in and… Continue

What's this? But it's too early for a new League of Extremely Ordinary Gentlemen episode! Well, what with it being the Xmas season and all the hustle and bustle our schedules required us to move stuff around a bit. So you lucky spilldos get LEOG 18 a week early!
I'm warning you out of the gates. We give spoilers for Batman R.I.P....we spoil everything, point by point. The cliff's notes for it, if you will, now with 90% improved jokes. Trust me, you'll be glad you let us tell you… Continue

I am of the opinion that you only really need to see one Will Ferrell comedy of his 'improving with his buddies' oeuvre and that is "Talladega Nights". Much to my surprise, that was comedy gold. Despite what Grant says in his review here, I didn't care for "Step brothers" much. It's not the worst movie ever and has some parts that are genuinely funny but let's face it: it's all downhill from here for the Ferrell… Continue
