"District 9" was my most anticipated movie of August 2009. We didn't really know anything about it until recently (apparently, the filming was very hush-hush), so it wasn't on anyone's "Most Anticipated of 2009" as far as I know of.
However, as soon as the teaser was shown, marketing posters were being placed in stores and outlets… Continue
With the last week of July upon us, the summer movie season tends to wind down a little. However, this year greets us with some big-budget, hot-action movies, along with the other summer comedies and kid films, all the way up until the end of August. Since the last day of July falls on a Friday, I decided to include the 31st in my foresight bickerings and anticipation. Without further ado, let us take a close look at the upcoming movies in the next month, shall we?
Alright, so I haven't been my most active lately. Why? Well, no reason, other than the fact that I have been completely lazy. No blog posts, no call-in shows, no responses! I have myself and only myself to blame for these actions...
So here is what I want you guys to do: yell at me. Whenever I don't respond to your comments, or you feel like you need a show or a nice blog, yell at me. I don't care. Flame my e-mails, send nasty LOLcats or something. Just make sure I'm not lazy! From this… Continue
So maybe this is a little late, but in my eyes, anything before the day after Oscar night is early enough. Anyway, as the title states, this is my "Top 10 Movies" list of the year 2008. So without further ado, I PRESENT... um... it...
At first, I was completely torn between this and "Role Models." I think "Role Models" made me laugh more, but I thought about it and… Continue
Okay, so I know I was supposed to post it on Sunday, but I wanted to post it with my Top 10 List. However, this was really bugging me, so I decided to post it now. This gives me a little more time to watch my "Burn After Reading" DVD that is so diligently holding me back from watching it and thus letting me write my list. Anyway, without further ado I present the winners of the 2008 ROFL Awards!
Wise words of Korey Koleman: "Lemme save this sh*t!" Yeah, I was working ever so hard on this when I pressed a wrong button and made it go kaplunk!. Remember! Save!
With only one more day of 2008 left, I looked back and thought about the year. The good things, the bad things, films... Ahh, yes, films. Did Hollywood dish out a shmorgisbord of goodness, or was it a pile of poo? Well, it turns that 2008 wasn't just good, it… Continue
I'm just bored right now, anticipating the new ROFLshow episode! Yeah, I know it's disgusting, but a mindless plug once in a while couldn't help, right?
I'll first begin with the video that inspired me to wright this mindless blog.
Besides this one, Youtube seems to have it's fair amount of animals-with-animated-features-sing-a-song-type of videos.… Continue
God, I feel good to be writing again. Anyway, this is the first in what is hopefully going to be a series of blog posts dedicated to reviewing those films that don't get released in as much glory as their bigger counterparts.
*sigh* It's that time of year again. When kids get those sugar hangovers from all that candy, and start reminiscing about their past Halloween. I am especially sad this time, as I haven't even finished all of my horror movies! I still have The Thing (which I have at least watched before), The Amityville Horror, Friday the 13th, and the utterly depressive Halloween III. Who wants to watch a movie about Halloween when it's not… Continue
With the release of My Name is Bruce today, I found it fitting that I'm reviewing this movie.
Army of Darkness begins where Evil Dead II left off, except once again retconning the fact that Ash killed the flying bird thing at the beginning. Instead, he is taken prisoner by English knights at war with a group of Scots. The leader of the Scots, Duke Henry the Red (Richard Grove), is also taken prisoner.
After Ash… Continue
1...2...Freddy's coming for you
3...4...Better lock your door
5...6...Get the crucifix
7...8...Gonna stay up late
9...10...Never gonna go to sleep again...
Nancy Thompson (Heather Langenkamp) finds a terrifying figure haunting in her in her dreams. One by one, her friends are brutally murdered by the same mysterious form. She tries to find out who this person is, and soon learns of Fred Krueger, a child murderer… Continue
In the midst of all the reviews I was doing before, this one, for some reason, casually slipped my mind.
This is the story of Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster), an FBI agent sent to track down a psychopath nicknamed Buffalo Bill (Ted Lavine). Along the way, she enlists the help of another psychopathic killer named Hannibal Lector (Anthony Hopkins). He's a smart and charismatic fellow, a former psychiatrist. So why is he in an insane asylum? Because he ate… Continue
William Castle used a gimmick called "percepto" in his movies. This meant the audience would interact some way with the film, or vice versa. The Tingler is arguably the greatest example of this tactic.
Dr. Warren Chapin (Vincent Price) believes that when humans are scared, a creature grows inside their spinal cord and kills the victim. The body's defense mechanism is screaming. You don't scream, you can kiss your life goodbye. When a mute woman (Judith… Continue
Wow. I mean...wow. This is--"grisly," "sick," "perverse," "raw," "unshakeable." These are all terms used on the back of the DVD to describe the terror of the horrifying monstrosity of................ THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE!
This is an excellent film. It grabs you and doesn't let you go. It created the slasher genre as we all know it. It was influential in its creation of deep, gripping, eerie atmosphere combined with its colorful range of… Continue
Bruce Campbell is back! And this time, his signature chainsaw-hand and boomstick is born!
Basically, Dead By Dawn (its subtitle) retcons the fact that Ash went with four other college students to the fact that he only went with his girlfriend Linda (Denise Bixler, who was played by Betsy Baker in the first one). It recaps the events of the first film, up until the point where the spirit attacks Ash. It's another night trapped with the horrifying demons of… Continue
It's the king of kings, the God of Gods, the Supreme Ruler! I am of course, talking about Bruce Campbell!
Remember when I said that The Shining was the most bizarre horror movie I've ever seen? Yeah, well, this one might just take the cake. You have reanimated floating corpses who are possessed by demons, not to mention some of the most goriest monster deaths in cinema when those things spew out white liquid and hands start to pop out of their body… Continue
