If it's crap ... We'll tell you
The series continues to progress, the past continues to merge into the present situations, and Sunday afternoons are now one of the highlights of the week for me. Yes indeed, it's worth repeating each review just how great "The Legend of Korra" has turned out to be, and with this episode bringing some very interesting resolutions to light, it…Continue
Four movies reviewed!
Last weekend saw a lot of new releases finally hit the shelves here in Ireland, and so it was the perfect conditions for three days of movies, along with my trip to see Prometheus. (you can find my full review for it…Continue

This has me slightly anxious in writing this. Not only because it is one of the most hotly anticipated films of the year, but also because there is a massive expectation from the fanbase. So, even as I write this, I have not yet decided my rating, but I will try to form a conclusive review, and also one that will give a…Continue
Korra returns after its... unusual week off from the TV screens. (seriously, for that holiday??) But in that time, I took the chance to re-watch the entire Legend of Aang show, hoping that it'll keep me up to track with the continuity and, understand the episodes for reviewing better. Time to test the metal of the theory now.
In the aftermath…Continue
For some, the summer blockbuster season didn't technically begin with The Avengers, it began with this film. There was certainly a lot of expectation for it, and a little hope that it would blot out the memory of the second instalment. However, there were many points being brought up too that threatened to…Continue
Two movies from this year to check out tonight, and you can probably guess which one perked my interest more to see. Well, to be fair, I also rented War Horse today, but that film's far too long to see tonight (it's already midnight here) so that will wait until tomorrow. Still, there should be plenty here to discuss, so let's dig right…Continue

A little late on this review, due to some family-related festivities over the weekend. But the extra long wait was well worth it, as the series continues to build upon the story and characters. And along the way, throw in some surprises as well. I have nothing to waffle on about this week, so I'll go right into the review.
Just as the title…Continue
Yep, it seems to be already in process, at the recent Ottawa ComicCon he laid out his plans to make a Doc based on the fan community of "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic". Many of you here on Spill will know him from "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and as a very accomplished actor both on the cinema screen and TV, but he was also the voice for the chaotic villain…Continue
Firstly - a disclaimer before I enter the review. Looking back at my stance on the previous episodes, especially last week's one, I see that I've been a little too harsh on the series so far. It is still developing characters and setting up their arcs, while expending upon the world. I may have been a bit too critical on some aspects, and…Continue
You know.... one of the hardest traits to earn as a good reviewer, is to enter a film with an open and clear mind. That can be easier said than done however, especially if you've already heard poor reviews and articles relating to it, you tend to block most of it out, but the key words never fully leave your mind. So was the case with…Continue

It's been a bit of a more busy two days with movie rentals, mostly from my brother renting out two that I had skipped over. The Bank Holiday Monday gave the perfect opportunity to check them out, and one at least went quite a bit beyond my expectations. The other, well.... I'd known of that one since the Spill reviews.
Strange... how after only four episodes, the show is already tackling the romance issues between the characters. And although it may (or may not) end in the way you expected, it still makes for an interesting review. I won't delay any further; let's have a look at how this went.
So, from the previous episode, we know of the…Continue
It feels like a real shame that this took so long to get onto rental, almost five months actually, because if I had known the accolades it would go on to achieve back in November I would have made more time to check it out. As it is however, I took the time to watch it this afternoon, and have yet another film to add to my 2011…Continue

Yep, because I'll be dammed if I'm going to spend considerable time telling you all why this is a bad film. The warning signs are clear to see from the case cover, but no doubt there will be some out there asking "just how bad is it??” Well, I'll sum it up for you as best as I can.
So, this is the 2011 movie starring Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller,…Continue

I had intended on seeing this last week on its pre-screening, but due to the London Spill Party, that idea got squashed. And I had to wait until I returned before returning to the cinema to see if the hype had been worth the wait. Because not since... Toy Story 3 almost, has a movie been met with such anticipation, has it all been worth it?…Continue

Well, I'm back from a very eventful London Spill Party that took place last weekend, and I return to Ireland with its usual greeting - miserable and cold weather. Still, it's time for me to try and catch up on some of the reviews I've been behind on lately, this may be a shorter one than usual, but should still prove…Continue

After the introductory episodes that were aired last week, the show today moved up another gear and began to hint at the groundwork that will define this series. With large viewing numbers tuning in to watch it both on TV and the Internet, we're finally beginning to see now the dangers that reside in this new world. But first, I'll give a bit of info on…Continue
So here we are, at the end of what has been a fun and entertaining season with a lot more twists and turns than anyone expected. And to round it all off, we have a double-feature episode to look at. Hasbro and The Hub have been excitedly advertising this for the past two…Continue
Yes indeed, I've chosen to follow and write reviews on the follow-up series to Avatar: The Last Airbender. And since today is the official airing of the openers (they have been on the official website for a while now) it seems fitting to begin here and cover them on a weekly basis. This series has been a long time in the pipeline, and…Continue
