I'm sure many already know about the questionably-conceived Spider-Man Broadway musical, Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark. Opinions may vary about the very idea of it, but I must say that after seeing this...

I've had some time to think and discuss Ninja Theory's reboot of Devil May Cry, and it still isn't working for me at all. I know the terms "emo," "Twilight-wannabe," and "gay" have been repeatedly thrown around by many in the gaming community (for lack of a better vocabulary, and we need to do better--Let's be honest with ourselves), but that's really not the problem here. This new design for Dante sucks, but it has little to do with looking like a…
I wanna start with full disclosure. The instant I heard about the casting of this film, I did not approve. Even more than I disapproved of the director. Things only got worse when I looked into the matter, and yeah, I sounded off on the issue. The fact that this production favored white actors in the…
First, I'd like to say that today was generally a pretty good day for gamers if you've been following the E3 press conferences. And while there's more to share than I could possibly gather in one place, I feel it NECESSARY to post this:
So, let's review...
Devil May Cry's Dante in a fighting game (from the 3rd game, specifically)
Captain America's shield can hit you coming AND going
A legitimate discussion on this matter has been a long time coming, and I think we can all agree on that. If you don't agree, it might be best if you stopped reading this post right now before I tell you how much of a fucking coward you are. The issue of racial representation in film and television has been lingering about for the better half of a century now, and all things considered casting in media has improved for people of color. However, these improvements are only incremental when one… Continue
After listening to your take on this recent cultural phenomenon, I think some clarification is in order. As one of the members that wrote a blog about the Twilight craziness, it feels to me like you're missing the point that a lot of us have been making. Truth is that we're not very fond of the people that simply hate something because of its popularity either. If you're like me, then your hatreds need justifications. And I may be speaking only for myself, but I've got some… Continue
This issue was honestly behind me, but then I re-visited the movie (thanks Rifftrax, some movies DO have it comin’…) and with the release of the second film installment upon us (in much the same way that H1N1 is "upon us") it brought back all of the thoughts that plagued me before. I am not a fan of this franchise, and there's no way anyone could mistake me for one especially if you’ve talked to me or read my review of the first movie. But there are a few things that generally irk the shit out… Continue
2 years ago when Michael Bay's first Transformers movie was released, there was some hub-bub about the characterization of Jazz. There's no denying that he was a blatant stereotype, even though some viewers excused it since he was a robot. Well, how are you gonna excuse this shit...
I have a proposal to all. From here on in, if a movie that is "based on" a preexisting property fails to honor the source material, be original, AND be remotely entertaining then it should be said to "suck Dragon Balls." If this movie only dishonored the source material, then it might actually still be watchable. The problem is that it is also boring and uninspired.
I could simply say that this movie is bad, but… Continue

Addendum: I was so stunned by this image in so many different ways at first that I honestly could not speak. But now that I've had a moment or two to collect myself allow me to clarify. I point a finger at Fox because of the look of Deadpool as well as the characterization from what can be gathered from the text. It reads: "With the ultimate mutant, Deadpool, on the loose, Logan and Victor Creed… Continue
If you're among those that cling to the misguided idea that Street Fighter:The Legend of Chun Li was at the least a better movie than the '94 movie starring Jean Claude Van Damme...kill yourself. If you think this movie is a step in the right direction, then you would be doing humanity a favor.
It would be impossible to call yourself a fan of the franchise if you liked this movie. There is nothing about this movie that remotely… Continue
I'm sure a number of people have read what MDS had to say about his opinion of the movie, and some of the users have responded in kind. I was going to, but I only got around to it recently and I want everyone to read what was said on both ends and decide for themselves.
Okay, here goes...
Okay, so... let's go for another round.
This time I've left off the two points that I conceded..
Gordon should have been looking the other way, and Freeman needed more…Continue
In the lead-up to this movie's release, I often wondered what the big deal was all about. Now that I've seen the movie (and looked into the source material), I'm still not clear on what makes this poorly written schlock so appealing. I mean, I know that teenage girls often go for older guys, but to even think that a 108 yr. old has never truly been in love before you came along would make you one of the most egotistical idiots on the face of the planet.
