The Artist. Although the wonderful Hugo leads the pack with 11 nominations, Michel Hazanavicius' loving tribute to the silent age of cinema is the favorite. It is the academy's perfect vision of a best picture. Influenced by classics like Singing in the Rain and pleasing the audience with entertaining originality, The Artist is a miracle.
