If it's crap ... We'll tell you
The summer season is nigh, and Warner Brothers does not want to be overshadowed in the superhero department by 'Iron Man 3.' They've just released the first TV spot for Zack Snyder's 'Man of Steel.' There's not a lot of new footage…Continue
There are so many major blockbusters to look forward to this summer. However, as has been the case in the last few years, the summer season of 2013 really begins this month. One of the big releases in March is Jon Chu's 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation.' As much as I wasn't a fan of the first movie, the marketing for the…Continue
Call me crazy, but I'm getting kind of excited for Antoine Fuqua's 'Olympus Has Fallen.' One of the two White House siege movies that we'll be getting this year, 'Olympus Has Fallen' looks like 'Die Hard' in the Oval…Continue
My interest in Sam Raimi's 'Oz the Great and Powerful' has been steadily waning over the last few months. Initially I was intrigued, but the more we see from this re-imagining of the characters from 'The Wizard of…Continue
One of the highlights of last night's Super Bowl was the TV spot for Justin Lin's 'Fast & Furious 6.' This thing looks so insanely awesome that I am chewing my own tongue waiting for its release. The scope and ambition of the action sequences appears to have been revved up as far as possible, and I'm so excited…Continue
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has been a busy guy. In 2013 alone, he will have four movies released. The first of the bunch is Ric Roman Waugh's 'Snitch.' In the film, Johnson plays a father who, at the behest of the DEA, goes undercover…Continue
Sam Raimi's 'Oz The Great and Powerful' promises to take a fresh, imaginative look at 'The Wizard of Oz.' The trailers and production art we've seen so far sure seem to stress the imaginative distinction. This latest…Continue
Whether you cry yippee-ki-yay or yippee-ki-nay, the fifth 'Die Hard' movie is happening and its release date is creeping up on us fast. We've seen a few trailers and posters thus far, but this latest TV spot features some new footage that enlightens us as to the scale of some of the more destructive set pieces. 'A Good Day to…Continue
Wolverine? No, Wolverines! I'm not going to lie, I'm getting pretty excited for the 'Red Dawn' remake. No wait, come back, where are you going? I know it looks dopey and preposterous...but then so was the original. I can't wait to see how a movie bred of the 1980s Red Scare can be remade in a post-Cold War society. Plus, you know, stuff blows up. This new TV spot for …Continue
The thing about Tom Tykwer's/The Wachowskis' 'Cloud Atlas' is that there is so much to the film that it seems impossible to spoil. That may be why Warner Brothers opted to drop that five-minute trailer back in July. However, though it…Continue
I've made no secret of my Bond nerdity in the past, but I think even the most jaded detractors of the franchise will have to stand up and take notice of this latest TV spot for Sam Mendes' 'Skyfall.' Hearing Daniel…Continue
It'll still be a few weeks B4 we get to see Peter Berg's 'Battleship,' but the advertising push is already starting to heat up. In this latest TV spot, it seems the optimal word is certainly "battle." The new spot is less concerned with the mystery of who the aliens are, and far more interested in showing the humans…Continue

I am really looking forward to James McTeigue's 'The Raven.' It's a dark thriller set in the final days in the life of Edgar Allan Poe (played in the film by John Cusack). It seems a serial killer is committing heinous murders styled…Continue
I've been on the fence about the new 'Underworld' film for some time. On the one hand, these movies started out as cheesy fun, but they seemed to have lost steam of late. I won't say this latest TV spot has completely assuaged my doubts, but the amount of additional action footage does suggest an over-the-top romp more in line with the first film, which was incredibly entertaining. I particularly like…Continue
I've been such a slacker lately as far as the blog has been concerned. There has been so much buzz for the last couple of weeks that I found out that there is not enough hours in a day. Because of this INSOLENCE, I felt that I have to compensate at least a little bit. So, I made this TV spot from one of my favorite films. Hope you like it.
P.S. Next blog post will come up soon.

"And there came a day, a day unlike any other, when several superhero stories found themselves united in a single article. On that day, 'Superhero Stories' was born - to contain the film and TV news no single blog post could withstand! Heed the call, then - for now...
Superhero Stories Assemble!"
