Top 5 Villains of the 2000s

The heroes they’re constantly in battle with might not be too fond of them, but I’m betting all you people can’t get enough of VILLAINS!! Yessuh, I’ve dedicated an entire blog to the Top 5 baddies we (or at least, I) can’t get enough of. 4 are from films, but number 3 is from a TV show.

Keep in mind that this is all O-P-I-N-I-O-N and you can disagree with me as much as you’d like to. But also know that if you do disagree, you’re probably an idiot. Just sayin’…

Ranking the Gotham Rogues: The Best and Worst of Christopher Nolan's Batman Villains

Of all the superheroes in all the world, Batman is one of the most iconic and legendary. Why is that? Is it his great fortune? His ultimate humanity? His unique symbol or quest for justice? Or is it partly the fact that he has spawned some of the greatest villains in all of modern literature, never minding their origins in comic book form? Yes, it is safe to say that Batman's rogues' gallery is arguably the greatest in all of comic books simply because each villain has a fascinating thing…

Bane's Speech from "The Dark Knight Rises"...as done by Mark Hamill's Joker (Impression)

Thought I would share this; back when "The Dark Knight" came out, I got a lot of requests to do Ledger's lines in the voice of Mark Hamill's Joker from "Batman: The Animated Series". Obviously, The Joker was not in "The Dark Knight Rises", so I just made this for fun. I took a couple of liberties with the writing of the speech so it would fit The Joker better.

The Dark Knight revisited: A look back at the incredible film

Yesterday I re-watched The Dark Knight in order to prepare myself for The Dark Knight Rises. Upon re-watching the 2008 film, I found myself in awe once again just as I was back in 2008. But, I'm a little older and experienced about the art of film and film-making, so therefore it should have been a little…

Looking back on "The Dark Knight Legend"

As the "Legend of The Dark Knight" draws to an end on July 20th, to look back on the series that has spanned 7 years, is like drinking a fine wine, it only gets better with age. Considering how far the franchise, and characters have come since the first rumors of a "new Batman film", it's a tremendous feat in both a artistic sense, and in a cultural sense. With that being said let's take a closer look at Christopher Nolan's "Dark Knight Series".…

The Black Couch 38: Depressing Anniversary

It's been 30 episodes or so since I last made a post about my podcast.  Might as well start again now.  Like the title suggests, it's been over a year since we started and you'd think we'd be better by now but compared to our first episode this is the god damn second coming.  I honestly forgot most of what we talked about but I do know that we mention the Dead Island trailer and I bring back my awful Joker impression from when we first started.  Skip to 1:07:25 if you just want to…

What Makes a Great Villain?

This idea for a blog has been in my mind for a long while so I thought that I might as well write it now. There has always been a question in my mind and that is what makes great villains? Frankly, there are so many aspects that make the list of great film villains who they are so I thought that we should look at some villains who have been listed over the years as being some of the greats and see exactly what makes a great villain so great, evil, despicable, and yet entertaining and…
