Anime has always gotten a bad wrap since it poked it's giant saucer-eyed face into the mainstream. And it's not hard to understand why considering the majority of it seems to duplicate the content over and over again. I use to be huge into Anime when I was in high school, but once I got to college I realized that most of it was garbage. However, having swam way through all that garbage, there were a few gems among the coal I fished out. I've compiled a list of some of the best Anime movies I've…

We are super lucky to live in an age where we have DVDs with special features that are actually cool. Granted, there are some DVDs where we have too little special features (interactive menus) or too much (Lord of the Rings and the 12 discs of crap you'll never get through without falling asleep). But there are times when we get some REAL good featurettes that play like full-length documentaries. That being said, here are what I consider the best documentaries which should not be overlooked as…

As one of the biggest batman
fanatics fans you'll ever meet I get why you guys now all love him so much, and I can't wait to pick up a copy of
The Dark Knight on DVD/ Blu-Ray when it's released on Dec. 9th, too.

It outed enough of you closet-Batman fans to the tune of almost $1 billion (so far) and a ranking as the #2…

Ehmagawd, I’ve been waiting for this to come out for a while, ever since I got into the first book I got as a promo from my job at the bookstore. If you haven’t read Lisi Harrison’s teen
series, the Clique, I’m betting you make up the vast majority of the Spill membership. It’s pretty much made for tween to teen girls. I’ve heard it called a cleaner version of Gossip Girl, but I couldn’t say.…

I remember when cardboard sleeves we're used only for storing AOL free trial discs (you know, when they gave you so many hours to try it free). Now we're using them to store actual DVD movies? Not promotional? Commercial? Are you serious?

It all started with this movie. An Inconvenient Truth successfully scared the public into becoming more 'green' (and giving Al Gore money). So, in an effort to make the movie look more 'eco-friendly',…

And a press release! Promise!
This project keeps looking better and better. Hopefully being a feature instead of a series of shorts will make it a bit more lasting in the memory than Gotham Knights (which we all liked, but none of us LOVED.) Here's hoping this is as good as NEW FRONTIER. Here's some arts for the arts lovers!…

You know all those movies based on TV shows that people usually brush off as being just a couple episodes of the series strung together? Well, Tripping the Rift, The Movie actually IS a few episodes from the series strung together to make a movie. This is not so much a movie as much as it is ¼ of season 3.

There are three good things I can say about this movie.
1. The voice acting is top-notch by Stephen Root as Captain Chode and…

Last Tuesday marked the release of the special 2-disc extended edition of Waterworld. Even seeing this movie as a child, I knew it sucked hard. Even worse, the so-called extended edition is rumored to be the TV edited version that was broadcasted on ABC. Okay, you'd have to be REALLY into Waterworld to want that on DVD.
So if a movie like Waterworld can get a special edition, what other crappy movies can get this treatment and what…

The tricky part of writing a review for the
Speed Racer movie is avoiding racecar puns, especially since it did such an inglorious crash & burn at the box office.
*sigh* See?

Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild) stars as Speed in this big-screen adaptation of the popular 1960s-era Japanese animated… Continue

So first off I want to thank everyone who took the time to enter or stopped by the
Carlyle's Contests Entry thread. There are some real masterpieces in there. Some are just plain fun - others mildly disturbing. After l'il Ryan Corderman spammed the group with about 2 dozen truly...inspired...pieces, we had him put in therapy and early reports have him as doing very well and responding to the…

So, ladies and gentlemen, if I say I'm a pissed off man, you got to agree.
Now, I love There Will Be Blood almost as much as our good friend Carlyle. It's a cinematic spectrum which really takes to it's advantage, the power of film. I love this movie so much that I purchased the Two-Disc Special Collectors Addition, like any true movie fan would. After buying it, I couldn't wait to see the movie again, then bathe in it's extra features. After now doing so, I can honestly say…

I've been a avid blu-ray watcher and I thought it would be a good idea toe review blu-ray movies and say whether they are worth the buy or not. I assure you it's mixed. Some are worth it, others not so much. So along with Trash Review (I will have a new episode up tomorrow), I will review blu-ray movies. I currently own over 20 BR movies. Tomorrow I will review Twister for Blu-Ray.
My rating system for this series will be as follow:
Don't watch
Rent it on…
