The first footage of the Kickstarter funded Shadowrun Returns has shown up online. The game was one of the first major Kickstarter projects to extend well beyond its' original goal. The developers were hoping to raise $400,000 in funds for the game, but when they ended their 30 day fund raising period they closed out with $1.9 million. Now the developers have released a whopping 20 minutes of pre-alpha game play footage of the crowd sourced fan favorite complete with commentary by some of…Continue

A couple of weeks ago, I got lucky and won a couple of passes for a screening of Men in Black 3 for today, and I wasn't about to let that opportunity pass me by. So, today's movie review is Men in Black 3. The sci-fi film from Columbia Pictures - rated PG-13 for sci-fi action and brief suggestive content - stars Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin,…Continue

Well, after four years of waiting, five movies to help prepare the fans, and seven heroes for fans to be even more excited, The Avengers has finally been released with raving reviews and now receiving the status of the ultimate comic book. And in many ways, it does deserve most of the praise it’s receiving. The Avengers is the movie that Marvel fans all over the world have been waiting for and is definitely worth all of the four years of hype.

I have really been looking forward to today. Today is the culmination of four years of work by Marvel Studios. Today, we get to see The Avengers. The Marvel Studios/Paramount Pictures production, rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action throughout, and a mild drug reference, stars Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett…Continue

On May 4, one of the most ambitious movies ever made will be released to theaters here in North America. That's right; I'm talking about The Avengers. This has been a franchise in the making for at least four years, due in large part to the rousing success of the 2008 film Iron Man. When that took off, Marvel Studios decided to bring the core group of Earth's Mightiest Heroes to film.
Now, I've seen all of the movies, and I think all of the reviews are available here. If not, they…Continue

Attack the Block Review
Well, with September just starting now, that means summer is pretty much official over. Which means that the summer movie season has officially ended as well, so to celebrate the official ending of summer, why not write a review for one of the best movies of this summer, Attack the Block? If there’s going to be another great movie to end this summer movie season with a bang, it might as well be this one. Plus, out of all the alien invasion…Continue

My apologies to my Spilleos and readers in the U.S. who have seen every single Captain America review possible over the past week, but this is one more to the list. Even though this is from the opening Irish weekend for the film (and in 2D) it will most likely be similar to what you've read before. But, judgeing from the…Continue

Adult comedy.... it's a cruel mistress, isn't it? We want it to be hillarious and knock us out of our seats, and yet 90% of the time it just.... well, lacks that certain thing in the trousers' department. They only get an adult rating to appeal to an audience that will not question if it's good or rubbish, and laugh at it…Continue

Yesterday was my birthday, and I decided to spend a lot of it resting so I could go to a midnight screening of the last film in the most successful movie franchise of all time. Today's movie is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. The Warner Bros. production - rated PG-13 - stars an ensemble cast headlined by Daniel Radcliffe,…Continue

With the release of Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon hot on our heels, I've really been thinking about how good or bad the movie will actually be. While I and several others were rather annoyed by Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen for a staggering amount of reasons, I won't forget how people were at the Midnight Screening of that film. The entire theater was packed beyond belief, and thoroughly entertained from start to finish. But it actually wasn't necessarily from…Continue
