Hope Springs Review

There are only two words that can completely describe Hope Springs: adorable and melancholy. Those who know me well, know I'm a romantic-comedy loving bastard, that will watch anything and everything. Why, you ask me? Because of Hope Springs. Because films like these are released and…

Mindless Entertainment!! A weekly comic book review (Dec 2 2010)

So, since no one volunteered any new comics, I've taken three that I've picked up today to review:

First, starting with a new series by Kieron Gillen and Salvador Espin, called Generation Hope, which is a spin off of the main X Men titles. This new series focuses on Hope, the mutant messiah, and 5 new mutants whose powers and personalities seem fairly vague so far. The… Continue

A Call To Arms Or: A New Hope

Spilldoes and STAR WARS brethren/fans alike, it has come to my attention that an iconic (and sacred) movie relic is a stones throw away from utter obliteration. I call anyone-who-reads-this attention for one purpose: to aid in the restoration of this old familiar for future generations (and me) to visit. This home away from home, for many, is in some dire need of attendance. What could I be talking about? Why, it is that unforgettable igloo out under the sun; The Lars… Continue

Why I Like the Prequels

Back in the 1970’s, a young director named George Lucas set out to create a little space drama called Star Wars. From there, everyone knows what happened: The franchise was a smash hit and went on to spawn 2 sequels, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. After Return of the Jedi was released in 1983, it is rumored that Lucas lost his mind and was committed to an insane asylum for 14 years. Or at least that is the only logical reason for what was to come after. Upon his release (or… Continue

A New Hope - Review

Star Wars: A New Hope Review

Rotten Tomatoes rating: 93%

My rating: Full Price!!

The adventure begins with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), a starry eyed young man, desperate to escape from his home planet of Tatooine, longing for the exciting life of an Imperial starfighter pilot. Little does he know that he will be fighting as a champion for the other side, the Rebel Alliance, led by tough lady Princess Leia… Continue

Kriss Kross's Star Wars Blog Bothers Me.

As some one who has Star Wars in his blood (or at least on my skin for life) I ask you to please not try to defend the series. "Jenga Fett" was my first reason to dislike your diatribe that is both four years out of date an unnecessary. Jenga being a great party game (especially when you have a couple beers tucked away) and Jango being the father of Boba. From here I'll just pick apart your blog with my reaction as one of the most die hard Star Wars freaks in the nation.

Cutting Into The Scene: Are Movies Just Fancy Fairytales?

Greetings Spillios,

Professor IronMan Jo
has arrived once again to give forth yet another in-depth look at cinema in Cutting Into The Scene.

This one will be a very interesting experience... one that I found very fascinating as I was researching it. Exploring the mad idea of Postmodernism, I slowly realized the obvious conclusion... that films are just a visual way of retelling the same basic stories, an evolutionary metamorphosis in the art of storytelling.… Continue

Charlie Bartlett: A unique and entertaining comedy

Charlie Bartlett is a good movie, nothing spectacular but it fulfilled my expectations very well. It is a very well written comedy with the perfect amount of drama. It is funny but not because its full of jokes or gags, the humor of this movie is a consequence of the situations in it. The plot about a wealthy teen (Yelchin) goes to a new public high school and ingratiates himself into its social fabric by using his charm to become the school's resident "psychiatrist" is good, its like a glimpse… Continue
