How Christopher Nolan's Justice League Is Not Impossible

First of all, let's look over the plot summary of the Dark Knight trilogy as the definitive Batman story on film. As a young boy, Bruce Wayne's parents are killed in front of him and thus decides to travel the world for many years to find his life purpose with the aid of the League of Shadows…

Ranking the Gotham Rogues: The Best and Worst of Christopher Nolan's Batman Villains

Of all the superheroes in all the world, Batman is one of the most iconic and legendary. Why is that? Is it his great fortune? His ultimate humanity? His unique symbol or quest for justice? Or is it partly the fact that he has spawned some of the greatest villains in all of modern literature, never minding their origins in comic book form? Yes, it is safe to say that Batman's rogues' gallery is arguably the greatest in all of comic books simply because each villain has a fascinating thing…

The Dark Knight Rises Review

Four years of build-up can do quite a lot. It gets the people pumped to see what's going to happen next, it raises the expectations considerably since the team behind the film is taking their time and since it's the end, people desperately want to know the fate of all…

Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 Debut Trailer

Easily one of my favorite games of 2009 and my pick for best comic based game to date, Batman Arkham Asylum ended with a ending that begged for a sequel. Well here's our first taste with the debut trailer.…

Charles Dickens, William Shakespeare and Batman: Equality for Comics.

How many graphic novels can you name that would count as literature? There's Watchmen, naturally. And Maus, you can't forget that one! Oh, and The Dark Knight Returns... and eh... Persepolis... that would count too... hmmm. The high art of graphic novels sort of stops… Continue

Why The World Needs Robin. And, More Importantly, Why Batman and Nolan Do.

It's become quite fashionable to have a go at poor Dick Grayson. 69 years of loyal service to that darkest of knights and Christian Bale turns around and says "If Robin crops up in one of the new Batman films, I'll be chaining myself up somewhere and refusing to go to work"

Since this many have come out to say that placing Robin in the Nolan Batman films would be 'unrealistic' and detract from the tone of the films. Many… Continue

Could The Joker Return?

MTV caught up with Dark Knight producer Charles Roven and asked about the future of the Batman franchise and whether or not Nolan and co. would have done anything different with the Joker character had they known Heath was unable to return. “We have to separate the actors from the role," said Roven.

“On a personal level, Heath was a friend of mine. We had worked together before ‘The Dark Knight,’ but I still think that ‘The Dark… Continue

A Reponse to the OP-ED Piece by Andrew Klavan in the WSJ "What Bush and Batman Have in Common"

Mr. Klavan wrote What Bush and Batman Have in Common for The Wall Street Journal. The conservative lenses that he views the world through is blinding him to reality, real or otherwise.

Obviously, Klavan has not a clue about reality nor fiction. Most people who ever cracked a comic or watched Timm's DCU could tell you that they are polar opposites.

I have a fair understanding that there is moral… Continue

My World Premiere Screening of Batman: Gotham Knight, with Bruce Timm there. A Snippet.

Ok, so maybe I wasn't sitting next to him but I was only a few rows away from him and at the end of the movie a panel consisting of Timm, Brian Azzarello, Alan Burnett, Josh Olson, and Greg Rucka, and VP of creative affairs Gregory Noveck took the stage for some Q and A. There was an adorable kid with an adorable question which prompted a...well a crowd pleasing, hilarious response. (more on that later)

First let me tell you how glad I was to get a seat. The movie aired at 7pm and I… Continue
