Lakeshore and MGM have tapped Debbie Allen, Charles S. Dutton, Kelsey Grammer, Megan Mullally and Bebe Neuwirth for the roles of instructors and supervisors in the upcoming Fame remake, reports Variety.

Production begins Wednesday, with Kevin Tancharoen directing. As with the 1980 original, the remake follows dancers, singers, actors and artists from auditions to graduation at the New York City High School of Performing Arts.

Cloverfield Blu-Ray Review

All of us remember that mysterious trailer before the film Transformers at the theatre. A few people chilling out partying, then all of a sudden disaster strikes them. The thing that brought our attention was the sight of the Statue of Liberty's head thrown in the middle of the street with people screaming. The trailer ended with the film's release date. No title, no plot given out, nothing.

When the film came out this January,… Continue

Millers Crossing Review

Photobucket

Theatrical Release: October 1990

The Low Down: I am sure many people have seen this film by now but i just finished watching it for the first time. It follows a character named Tom Regan (played by, Gabriel Byrne) who is a adviser to a crime boss in the 1930's. The movie takes its twist and turns in normal Coen Brothers style and ends in a very fulfilling way. The film has everything you would expect from the Coen Brothers; Snappy dialogue,…

ROFL's Limited Release Reviews: Lat den ratta komma in (Let the Right One In)

I'm going to come out and say it right away: this movie was tremendously awesome.

"Lat den katta komma in" (or "Let the Right One In") is about twelve-year old boy named Oskar (Kare Hedebrant) who is constantly bullied falls in love with a fellow twelve-year old named Eli (Lina Leandersson) who turns… Continue

Movies stoners should have in their collection

Wayne's World I & II

How could stoners not love these movies. It involves two real manchilds (not the deuchy Will Ferrel type) who basicly just want good tunes and good times. Sounds an awful lot like a bunch of my freinds.... anyways. with nonstop hilarious joke after another, along with creative and interesting plots . The greatest thing it does though cross over the line of compleatly ridiculous… Continue

My Two Cents on Batman 3

Regardless what people say, there is going to be a third Batman film eventually, and hopefully Christopher Nolan will direct it and Christian Bale and Morgan Freeman will still be in it. But the big question is: who will be the next villain, or will they bring back the Joker with a different actor? So here's my honest personal opinion on the third movie, and what would be best for it. And if you don't feel like reading this whole thing, then just skip ahead to the last paragraph, where I… Continue

Cyrus Tells You What To Buy Your Family For Xmas

Damn, I meant to get this out by Black Friday only I was, well, shopping. It’s that shoppy time of year, kids. Why get your dad a tie or your mom a bottle of Target brand perfume when you can get them something that’ll light up their eyes and look at you with new found respect for actually taking a little time out to get them a thoughtful gift. The ultimate gift. The gift of Extra-Super-Special-Edition-Movie-Box-Sets. Don’t… Continue

Reviews - Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000 and The Fifth Element

My buddy Kyle and I rented two sci-fi flicks I'd like to compare. One we watched ironically and one we earnestly enjoyed. First up is Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000 (2000). For the last 1,000 years earth has been mined for it's precious metals by the Psychlos. "Mankind is an endangered species." Apparently humans have forgotten that all our cities and everything we ever built on the planet was made by us. They accredit the… Continue

Here's Gambit....Really, That's Gambit? Meh.

I never saw it. I loved reading the X-Men but around the I always found Gambit to be annoying with his over-emphasized Bayou-isms and 'whose side is he on anyways' character arcs. I always got the feeling that the ladies (those ladies out there who actually read superhero comics-you know who you are) dug him but he never did much for me. Some of the more squee-ish fangirls I'm friends with excitedly pointed my… Continue

The Top 7 Most Terrifying Disney Movie Deaths of All Time!

Note: I did not make this. This is something i found via linked to a forum i used to join. Still hope you like it, though what you'll read in bold below is not my own words!

Kids, like adults, love it when bad things happen to bad people. So Disney movies always make sure the villain gets what they've got coming to them in the end.

And, sometimes, Disney gives them what they had coming, and then way, way more. Here are seven Disney villains who got dispatched in (sometimes…

I'm No Legend

I Am Legend

Directed by Francis Lawrence. Screenplay by Mark Protosevich and Akiva Goldsman. Based on the novel by Richard Matheson. Starring Will Smith, Alice Braga, Charlie Tahan, Salli Richardson, Willow Smith. 101 min.

Will Smith is out to save the world. Again. That wouldn’t be such a bad thing in and of itself – after all, he’s an old hand at this by now – if it weren’t for the fact that Charlton Heston beat him to it, and to much greater effect, in The Omega… Continue

Bad News for Blu-Ray

Well, it looks like there's a bumpy road ahead for Blu-ray, the winner of the HD format wars. And while sales to technology fans, audio-visual junkies and movie collectors have driven the format to be declared an early success (with some claims going so far as to claim Blu-ray will be outselling DVD by 2012), it still hasn't gotten the market penetration it needs to be considered a real contender to be the preferred format. But with a recession that might actually become a full blown depression… Continue

Apocalypto Review

Movie: Apocalypto (2006)

This Review may contain Spoilers**

When I saw the cover to the dvd I didn't have a clue what the movie was about. Honestly, I thought it was about aliens. If you look at the sillhoute it looks just like Abe from the Odd World video games. Well the movie is not about aliens, it's about Mayan Tribesmen.

It's pretty cool, but not really very deep… Continue
