Trick R Treat *** out of **** Spill Rating: MATINEE!
Trick R Treat has one of the most troubled histories of any film I've seen. Made in 2007, it has had numerous delays and has one been seen only by the few lucky people who have been to horror festivals. Despite stellar reviews by every single horror site on the net and a huge demand by audiences, it only recently was released by Warner Bros. I was very excited to see the film and… Continue
Earlier this year, Michael Jackson announced that he would be performing 50 shows in London’s O2 Arena under the title, This Is It. When I heard that, I knew that he wouldn’t be able to do that many shows just by looking at him, but I thought he’d at least be able to do one. Michael recorded footage of his rehearsals that would’ve been for his own personal viewings. But now, in the wake of his death, the footage has been released to the public in… Continue
A lot of movies are going to come out this year and next year that I am really looking forward to, such as Fantastic Mr. Fox and The Book of Eli. However, just as many movies are going to come out that I'm not looking forward to. Here's a list of movies that I don't have very good predictions for.
(EDIT: I changed the title from "Absolutely Zero Faith" to "Very Little Faith" after reading some of the comments. I wasn't feeling very pleasant at the time of writing and…Continue
I've got to be honest, this year has mostly been a meh year for movies. Four of my favorite films this year came out in the summer, Star Trek, Up, District 9, and The Hangover with Paranormal Activity the lone film in the top five.
However, there are 10 films that I can not wait to see that come out in the next three months and here they are:
I'm not sure about any of you, but this year has truly been an outstanding year in film for me. You can complain about the major blockbusters of the year disappointing (Terminator Salvation, Transformers 2), but it's the movies I personally was looking forward to, or even totally ignored in some cases, that have been totally dominating my complete affection.
With the now 10 nominated movies in the Best Picture categories of the Oscars, there have been some films in particular this… Continue
Saw VI ***1/2 out of **** Spill Rating: HIGH MATINEE!
After Saw V, I had given up on the franchise. It wasn't because it was bad, it was just so sloppily put together and lazy, it seemed like all if the good ideas had been used up with the first three. The traps were boring, the acting was atrocious and they were finding the worst ways to incorporate Tobin Bell back in. Until some positive reviews started to come in, I was not looking… Continue
Remember back during Fantastic Fest how Co-Host was talking about those Real-D TVs that will be coming to the consumer market soon? Tokyo, the land where we get the majority of our technology from, has developed a prototype that is definately one step above the rest.
So while the applications in this prototype is for still images, the potential is still there for a whole lot of other media. Video games that don't require a split screen for multi-player party… Continue
Hi guys! I decided to catch a double feature before the halloween weekend! I thought I'd give ya a double review!
While this has a all of the elements of a Saw film, this was actually quite a surprise for me. While I think that this film won't garner new fans to the series, but this one holds up as a solid horror film. I've always liked the character of Jigsaw and this film actually has you sympathize… Continue
Roald Dahl was a big part of my childhood reading. His stories, particularly the Revloting Rhymes along with the The Twits, always kept me interested and giggling with childish delight. They were fantastic children's stories and, prior to JK Rowling, were the only massive successes, critically and commercially, in the children's book market.… Continue
It really sucks to see a really good movie not do well. BLACK DYNAMITE was released last Friday on limited screens. Here in Irvine, the movie has had no business. When I saw that the movie wouldn’t last another week, I had to make an early trip to the theater. I laughed my ass off watching the trailer and I was really looking forward to it. I was running late to see the movie because I didn’t want a front row seat. Luckily when I made it, the previews were still running but there were only 4… Continue
Ah, Jigsaw, Jigsaw, Jigsaw.. How much longer are you going to keep this up? Six movies in half a decade and yet you have another one coming out next year. Didn't you die 3 movies ago? As much as I do like this series it's run is beginning to wear off on me. The SAW series is this generation FRIDAY THE 13TH. All we want to see from these movies are the sick, twisted mousetraps set up by Jigsaw, or in this case Hoffman. I enjoy watching these traps go in play you can truly get the sense that they… Continue
Sons of Anarchy: Simply the Most Engrossing Show On Television
Hey everyone, big TV fan invading the movie site again. First, I let you all know some of the big shows to watch this season. I forgot to mention (and you can all yell at me later for it) FX's best show, and what might be the best show on TV - Sons of Anarchy.
Who doesn't love a shot of outlaws on steel horses?! The Sons of Anarchy
Saw III ***1/2 out of **** Spill Rating: FULL PRICE!
The opinion of the Saw franchise is as follows: The first is the best while the rest decline in quality. My reaction to the first Saw was not favorable, (that's being kind) but I enjoyed Saw II. However, Saw III is my favorite of the franchise for many reasons. The acting is for the most part fantastic, the plot is surprisingly complex and deals with many emotional issues plus the… Continue
I'm sure you've heard that line at least once within the last five years. It's almost impossible to go through the Halloween holiday without seeing some reference to the Saw franchise, especially when cinemas always gear up for another installment every year. When you look at it in retrospect,… Continue
Now I have never done a review of a game ever, so I wouldn't go out and review "any old game", lucky for me this isn't any old game.
I have a Playstation 3, and I do play it quite a bit when I'm not at school or watching movies or hanging out with friends, so one of the first games I played on it was Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, it was a fantastic game and with a lot of charm and was just plain fun to play and still ranks within the… Continue
Back once again (a saga that continued...?) with a list of familiar faces but maybe not so familiar names.
While you may not see this little lady very much, you’ll definitely recognize the voice. Over nearly half of her work has been contributed to her narrative talents such as Grandma Willow in Pocahantas, Gaia in the God of War video game series, and “Management” in the HBO series… Continue
