"The Vampire Diaries" Season 2 on BluRay 9/30/2011

I know what you're thinking: "That show is for high school girls. Why would I want to waste my time?" Because, really, this show is better (and darker) than it has any right to be. It is, for the most part, character-driven, and those viewers who get sucked into the show will keep watching because they will genuinely care about the characters.

In Season 2, the writers continue to expand the mythology of the vampires and witches, while adding the requisite werewolves to the…

Animated Analysis - Yo Yogi!

Image

Me and Nootrac (my drawing from when I was 7 years old come to life) talk about animated films and TV shows, and give two separate opinions; one of someone thinking as a somewhat cynical adult, and one in the mindset of a child. I hope you enjoy it!

Ep. 6: Yo Yogi!

The epic story continues with horrible…

Braingasm Podcast Episode 28: I Love You Dr. Zaius

In this our 28th episode of Braingasm we are joined by not one but two beautiful guests (beautiful people are just better than regular people) in the forms of Skylar (AKA @theteapartyrat) and Shakyl (AKA @the_gaming_king). Hmm, both @the...'s. I never noticed that before.

We began as we do every week with a shaking of the EARTH ITSELF...not really but it felt like it. Shakyl got extremely animated in his discussion of Adventure Time. Cesca likes…

PCP's Weekly Dose: Watch the Throne Review

We haven't reviewed an album in a long time so now seems to be as good a time as any to do one. Jay-Z and Kanye West have combined their efforts culminating in Watch the Throne. We run down the track list (after a quick run with death aka Audie) and give our two cents as hip-hop fans. Is this the most anticipated album in rap? Does it live up to the hype? Did we stumble upon the next great hit in rap game parody music? Is Amber Rose a deaf-mute?… Continue

Super review

Before you ask, yes I know this movie came out in theaters awhile back. However, after seeing it today and since it just came out on DVD, I wanted to give my thoughts on the film in celebration of this being release on DVD. NowWith that out of the way, enough chit chat, on to the review.

Super review

Superhero movies have always been a popular genre especially in recent years. Many of them are hits such as The Dark Knight, and The Incredibles, quite a few…

PCP's Weekly Dose: Diversity in Comics

No doubt, you've heard the kerfuffle that transpired last week when Marvel announced that the helm of Spider-Man in the Ultimate universe has been taken up by a half Black and half Hispanic character: Miles Morales. Needless to say, while the majority of people responded with a reasonable "maybe it'll be good, maybe it won't" reaction. Unfortunately, there was also a vocal minority that cited this "blackwashing" as "reverse-racism" and more… Continue

Fright Night (2011) Review

FRIGHT NIGHT. A 2011 remake of the 1985 original. It had a lot to live up to, considering the original is a hilarious classic that made its mark during its time. Did Anton Yelchin & Colin Farrell succeed at modernizing this timeless… Continue

Cowboys, Aliens, Spill and DC

Palms to Heaven, friend, and welcome to another edition of Spill in D.C.  Despite the hot weather reaching well into the 100s in the District, a crew of Spillios (Ewok Princess, Moxie, Ken-K and two of his friends, and myself) gathered last weekend to talk shit, discuss Cons, and other discussions that spurred out of the movie of the day: Cowboys and…

PCP's Weekly Dose: Crazy, Stupid, Love Review

Well, Cowboys & Aliens came out, and everyone is acting like adding "smurf" to their review of The Smurfs is a stroke of genius (no, it's as clever as a rehab joke about Winehouse). So, for some reason, we respectively took ourselves to the theaters to see the ostensibly random assemblage of adjectives that is Crazy, Stupid, Love. If you're wondering, "why are these guys reviewing this movie"...well, expand your horizons. Sadly, only one of… Continue
