Is Malcolm In the Middle, The Marx Brothers or The Three Stooges of the 2000s?

I recently sat down and watched and appreciated reruns of Malcolm of the Middle and I must say out of the last decade this has to be one of the funniest well written and well…

Alternative Films that could've have been Nominated for Best Picture Academy Awards (A Mashup parody blog)

I think this year's Academy Award Nominations for Best Picture has had a wonderful selection, but unfortunately not everyone agrees with the choices. Some complained that Avatar was unoriginal, Inglorious Basterds too talky, and so on and so forth. Most spill members downright hated some of the selections on the list. Well I think the proper solution to this would to combine the nominations together and you not only get better selections but better films as well. Check this… Continue

Alternative Lord of the Rings Soundtrack - The Tarantino and Scorsese Way!! - The Fellowship of the Ring

We all know about The Wizard of Oz and The Dark Side of the Moon but what about other soundtrack Synchronization to a movie like The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Well I did do that by listening to the Der Ring Des Nibelungen Opera Ring Cycle by Richard Wagner even though Professor Tolkien would roll over his grave if he heard I synch the music up with the films because he hated that Opera, but it felt right for the Norse and Celtic mood of the story.…

That's cool Pvt thanks for messaging me directly. I seem to have ruffled a few feathers. Being in the Uk, I had heard his name but only knew of him as a film critic who gave thumbs down to some of my favourite films so it was all slightly baffling to me. But from seeing the passion and reasons behind people's affections over the past few days and that it was the entertainment value and writing and the fact you all had grown up listening to this guy is why everyone was so fond of him and now I feel like a bit of a jerk! In hindsight I simply should have said nothing. So I can only offer an honest apology and say i'm sorry for the loss.

Those artcles made me sad too. :(

I can´t believe that kids these days prefer to love any reboot of a movie and don´t even bother to see if they´ll love the original movie.

Thankfully I´m not one of those kids.

I thought The Amazing Spider-Man was a decent adaptation of the outstanding comic book character that focuses more on the character development of Peter Parker's realationship with Gwen Stacy and his hard journey on becoming Spider-Man than mixing character development with big, long and entertaining action scenes like Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire did with their outstanding trillogy.

The movie has a great story wittten by James Vanderbilt, Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves about Peter Parker trying to solve the mystery of the disappearance of his parents and heading into a relationship with Gwen Stacy while batting The Lizard and learning what it real means to be a responsible person and hero but I was disappointed that the mystery of the disappearance of his parents was not sloved untill the sequel.

Andrew Garfield does a good job with the stunts in the action scenes as Tobey Maguire did but Andrew only had like 5 quips to say in this movie and Tobey's Peter Parker/Spider-Man said 27 quips in the first 3 movies but it's better than no quips at all and as Peter Parker he has a good relationship with Emma Stone.

But to me Peter Parker is a likeable academically brilliant but unpopular high school senior student who is bitten by a genetically modified spider and gains spider-like abilities who later became a superhero, a Columbia College physics student and photographer for The Daily Bugle as Tobey played him.

Andrew plays Peter as a selfish and ungrateful jerk who hates being responsible for the things he forgets to do and I hated that but the rest of the good cast do a fantastic job with their roles. I also hated Uncle Ben´s death scene because it lacked any sad emotions.

The Amazing Spider-Man is directed by Marc Webb and I thought he did a great job directing the scenes between Peter and Gwen as his did in another one of my all time favortie romantic comedy-drama movies (500) Days of Summer he does an impressive job directing the action scenes.

The special and visual effects and action scenes in this movie are cool, the message in this movie is strong and the music alright.

Despite that the story is disappointing and some of the acting performances are terrible the other acting performances, directing and the visuals make The Amazing Spider-Man worth watching but I still like the Sam Raimi/Tobey Maguire outstanding trillogy better because those movies were fun, lighthearted and very entertaining and they really defined what Spider-Man is all about.

I hope the sequels to The Amazing Spider-Man are better. I think the bad guy will be Mysterio.

So I give this movie a Matinee!

Please let me know what you thought of my review.
