THE YEAR IN FILM (2009)

THE YEAR IN FILM (2009)#10: A SINGLE MAN“A Single Man” is a film with a vivid sense of imagination, but its true strength lies in its ability to embellish the human psyche and its inner complexities. Specifically, the movie follows the cerebral path of George (Colin Firth), who is a homosexual English Professor living in California in the early 1960s. George is heartbroken over the death of his lover, and is unable to lift himself out of his lugubrious existence. “A Single Man” takes us through…See More

TOP 10 MOVIES OF 2008!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and other stuff

YEAR IN REVIEW:

Wow! This was an INCREDIBLE year for movies! I have done a lot of top 10 lists in my day, but this year’s list was by far the hardest to make. This was the year the blockbuster films made their comeback (woo!). After several years of “ the little indie film that could” syndrome that has dominated past award seasons, America has proved yet again that big budget mainstream films are NOT just a bunch of noise (The Dark Knight, Wall-E, and Iron Man stood out from the bunch.).… Continue

My Top 10 Favorite War Films

10. MASH (1970): No, I am not talking about the television show "MASH." I am speaking of the original film, "MASH", that inspired the beloved series. This film struck the hearts of many Americans because we were in the midst of the Vietnam war, and had been subjected to such brutality and degeneracy for several years. Of all the films on this list, this film is the only comedy dealing with war. While "MASH" is extremely witty and hilarious, in a strange ironic way, I consider the film to be a… Continue

Good D9 review
I have to say I thought it was all great!
the right heroic character arc for the main guy.
Agreed Clive Owens heroics were more real and understated and pretty
much the same role and
I absolutely love Children of Men but
after all the summer Hollywood bullshit I thought Blomkemp
showed the bigger
budget boys a thing or two about bang for buck and how to construct
a coherent action sequence that
served the plot, looked stunning and wasn't just
CG for CGs sake!
Can't wait to see what he comes up with next

OMG how dare you you!! {sarcasm} ;)
LOL of course its ok !! :)

Its just unusual that an older member who has not added me already would add me so much later is all.
Mostly the new people I welcome send me invites, but new friends are always welcome :)
So may I ask. Where do I stick out the most in such a way to be noticed besides welcoming?
You mentioned blogs and things but is there anything specific?
Just curious is all.
Also how does today find you? Is all well?

Since you have been here a while on the site so I was not able to give you a welcome.
May I ask what I have done to be honored by your request?

Almost forgot. Have you watched TV-serie called Heroes. You propaly have. If you like interesting characters you should definetly look this out. In one point I lost interest because it stopped being interesting but it seems that it is starting to shange back to interesting again.

This migth be stupid question but what are you're expectations on Terminator: Salvation. I think it's gonna be huge.

I suppose you're rigth about Indiana Jones: Kingdom Of Crystal skull. I didn't really have much expectations when I went in movies to watch it and nostalgia affects me strongly so I quess that has something to do my opinion...hmm...That movie sucks dosen't it. If I'd not seen Indiana Jones movies before, the new one would suck ass.

Yeah, I mean what the hell were they thinking when they made Epic Movie! Am i even from the same planet than the makers of that film! Biggest waste of money ever!
So you didn't like Indiana Jones: Kingdom of Crystal Skull. I got to admit that aliens were too much but I liked the way it has same kind of vibe in it than the Indiana Jones movies before. Monkey scene was just hilarious and we can't forget scene where he survived nuclear explosion by being inside fridge. Chose that's what Indiana Jones Is all about.

What about TV-series, watch eny? Meaby Heroes?

Black Knigth was too long. It's good they try to make it realistic and all but when grown man with no superpower puts on batsuit and tryes to save the city from criminals it dosent mix well... Or does it? I don't really know what to say about that film but i't didn't woke much feelings. In most of the movies I wait something to happen but when watching this, I just watched it and that's it. Meaby it was brilliant movie and made with skill but as a experience it was nothing special.

I hope my writings don't sound too negative. I like your profile and you have good movie taste. Sorry for my bad english.
