Hey, jaxblade07. There's been a lot of change in the last 24 hours here at Spill. I'll walk you through it.
Korey had a meeting with the Hollywood.com bosses. He was trying to get money to fix things on the site, and what it came down to was that some things had to go to clear up the budget for the repairs to be made.
Sadly, this means that The Loading Bar, Happy Hour, and Remote Viewing are cancelled. Jason Murphy, Jeff, and Brian Salisbury have all been laid off. Kayla Kromer of the LEOG and Lounge Geeks has set up a fundraiser to help these guys in their hour of need. You can donate here: https://fundrazr.com/campaigns/fWFWb
In addition, the Billy and Korey show has been cancelled, and ACOCO has one episode left from what I understand. Leon is still on the site, but because he's always been part-time on the site and has a full-time job, he will be appearing in a limited capacity for now. I've heard nothing about LDT!!!, but it seems as if that show is safe, as is Cohost.
A lot of people behind the scenes have been laid off as well, with Spill having only seven employees after the cuts: Korey, Leon (limited capacity), Cohost, Cyrus, Fungusmonkey, MetalVirgin, and Tyler (animator). SpillDotCon at RTX is still on, and Jason and Jeff are still going to E3. It seems that Brian and Cyrus are going to try to resurrect Remote Viewing under a different name on another site (presumably Lounge Geeks). Jason and Jeff are being encouraged to start their own new thing, although Hollywood.com owns all the memes from their Happy Hour shows (Greedo the horse, Lady Boy Tequila Slaves, Cocaine Princesses, murder-boner, etc.).
The important thing to remember is to STAND BY SPILL in their hour of darkness. We were here to see them fall. We will be here to see them rise. If you can, donate to the fund raiser for Jason, Jeff, and Brian, or even buy them something off of their Amazon Wishlists.
Every little bit helps, and we're not going to let the people who make a living making us laugh be abandoned. We will not give up hope. We will not blame Korey for things he cannot control. We will persevere and we will not let Spill fade away.
In my opinion the reason why a few episodes of the 6th and 7th season of SpongeBob SquarePants have been misfires is because at this point the current creative director of the show Vincent Waller thinks that SpongeBob is funny when he causes trouble and thanks to him the writers of SpongeBob have come up with strange ideas for episodes and when they come up with good ideas for episodes they write some lazy writting at times.
But I think season 8 of SpongeBob is a really huge improvement because the writters have been doing an awesome job in coming up with original and hilarious ideas for episodes.
