If it's crap ... We'll tell you
So, I hear the same rumblings as y'all of perhaps a new spin-off project from the Spill peeps, and hopefully that all goes well, but I thought I also might take this opportunity to message all of you and let you know of a few other Spill spin-off projects you might have been unfamiliar with (primarily from folks affiliated with LEOG and The Loading Bar):
From the ashes of The Loading Bar video game podcast and playthrough here on Spill, Rage Select was born. Through the work of Jason and Jeff (and now me as well!), daily video game playthroughs are accompanied by immature and irreverant geeky humor. Sundays LEOG alumni Allison, Kayla and Kristin have a special show called Sparkle Fandango where they play video games with Picture in Picture of themselves. It's hilarious! Be sure to swing by the site, check out all the goodness, subscribe to us on youtube and facebook, and tell your friends!
LoungeGeeks is a hub for a variety show of geeky/alcohol related content. We have a weekly TV podcast called TV Dudes, featuring me, Randy Lander, Greg Smith, and Johnny Neill (all LEOG alum), and a weekly comics podcast called Loose Canon Comics, featuring Jason Murphy, Beau Paul, Martin Thomas (Leon) and Randy Lander. We also have a college-centric geek podcast called 'Geeks at College', headed up by fellow Spillios, a weekly top five podcast called 'Five & Out', a comedy podcast called 'Public Axis' and a back catalog of several other shows from these people you might want to check out (might I recommend 'The Greatest Drunk Stories Ever Told' from Jason and I). Enjoy!
John Rubio and I, along with our friends, host this weekly podcast about all things craft beer, but if you aren't a beer drinker don't let that scare you away from this show. We are hilarious (if I do say so myself) and become progressively drunk and off the rails each episode. Might I also add that we won the 2012 podcast award and have been nominated for 2013 for this podcast? I just might. Geek magazine puts The Beerists in the top ten podcasts you should be listening to, among Marc Maron and Neill DeGrasse Tyson! So check it out!
Chris (Cyrus) and Brian from Remote Viewing decided not only to resurrect their Spill show with a podcast called 'Digital Noise', but also expand to a whole site dedicated to catering to your every geek need. With a variety of shows included the successor to LEOG called 'The Original Gentlemen' (THEOG) with Chris, Martin and Beau, a sports podcast, bluray podcast, a Riff Tracks type show and much more, this site has you covered.
Harris from LEOG has created a geek dating advice site that has grown tremendously and has been featured on Kotaku, Huffington Post, MSNBC, and much more. A great site for all your dating advice.
All Rings Considered
Started by Spills very own Amanda (MetalVirgin/Mandy Savage) and John Sitton (GeekBombast.com) this podcast is dedicated to all things wrestling. Check it out!
I hope to see you guys at some of these sites as well as at whatever new project Korey has cooking up.
