If it's crap ... We'll tell you
My Companis Press release on IP infringement
June 30, 2013 2:00pm, Dallas Texas.
To whom it may concern,
My name is Malcolm Harris, I’m the owner of Channel M, a Dallas, Texas based, comic book publisher. We have since our creation; almost a decade ago dedicated ourselves to entertaining others with our fun and original characters.
Our most popular character is Princess Lucinda Nightbane. A different kind of magical princess, this precocious little witch she has capture the hearts and imagination of fans around the world and has made appearances in multiple projects published by our company.
Recently, Disney channel aired an episode of their animated series, “Sophia the first”, titled “The Little Witch”. This episode featured a character named Lucinda, who was not only a witch but as precocious as our own and who very design looked so similar to our character as to almost be indistinguishable.
Disney has in the past had issues with copyright infringement but never in our wildest dream did we think they would do so to our company, our fans and our character.
We see this as a plain case of Intellectual property infringement and a big corporation stealing from independent companies.
To our friends and fans we are sounding a call to battle. We will not let this go, we will fight this and we will need your help.
To members of the media, we ask you to help spread the word. This battle cannot be won without the world knowing about it.
And to all our fans, thank you for your support and your patronage.
