If there's anything Moriarty has been, it's been smart, but not insane. Not schizophrenic. BBC's Sherlock got that character wrong. As much as I enjoy Sherlock, practically everything with the Moriarty character onscreen is reminiscent of Batman's relationship with the Joker to the point of being a ripoff (particularly with that of 'The Dark Knight Returns', when the Joker snaps his own neck to frame Batman- spoiler alert for 'The Reichenbach Fall', by the way). The character BBC has peaked with 'The Great Game' of Series (Season) 1.

@Chucky Actually the Joker would be a ripoff of Moriarty, considering Moriarty was created 40+ years before the joker was.

Shame only Joker and Vader are real villains, and not a non-villain (Voldemort) or a ripoff of Joker (Sherlock's Moriarty).
