If it's crap ... We'll tell you
So the first episode of the new FX Series Lights Out has aired at the time that I'm writing this. The second will air in approximately half an hour. I can hardly sit still in my anticipation.
The series is about Patrick 'Lights' Leary (Holt McCallany) who we first see laying on a table after having been knocked out, and lost the final fight of his career. Skip to the present and he is now living in a mansion with his wife and three kids. He also doesn't have a penny to his name. The gym he owns with his brother and father is losing money, his brother is being investigated by the IRS, and his brother is being divorced by his wife who is attempting to gain full custody of their son. In his desperation for money he has to take jobs at celebrity Bingo games, and is eventually reduced to being a collector for a local loan shark, and street fighting for money.
Unfortunately, the pilot got worse ratings than Terriers. Please just watch this show, it is an incredible drama with great acting, good writing, and (I may be the only one who really cares about this here) gorgeous cinematography. If you don't have anything to do on Tuesdays at 9:00, tune into FX and watch Lights Out.
Each episode this show gets better and better! And the preview for next week?!?!? Holy shit balls!!
I figured when the other boxing promoter told his bro "You know what I wat" he meant Lights back in the ring. Not betting!
I'm glad his wife now knows. I always hate it in shows when it seems a character is suffering extra because they don't tell another character something important. I was wondering how he was going to get his wife on board with him fighting again, so it seems she may submit because of their financial commitments.
Also, the fight with the MMA guy was badass.
Eomann Walker was incredible in this weeks ep! My favorite character on the show! Wow what a performance! And the dude is huge! He was a little dude on Oz, but now he is massive! Makes Holt look tiny.
