i know this is old news and all, But i just can't see a Venom spin-off movie.
As much as i like the character and would like his background explored more than Spider-man 3 did, i don't think a spin-off is the way to do it. To me it's just like Catwoman, you can't have a Villain like Venom to be the protagonist without his arch-enemy, Spider-man. Spider-man made what Venom as he is, a villain. A film without the Web-head would make an empty gap between transformation from Eddie Brock to Venom.
Here be my point of view´s opinion, fellow:
There does not need to be an origin story to any character for you to root for it. Take the Joker from The Dark Knight as a contraexample to that hipothesis.
So if they show you Venom kicking ass as Venom uses to kick ass, would you not have a huge smile on your geek face (as i know i would)?
They only need to make it right and that does not depend on the crapier version shown on Spiderman 3. Not that Topher Grace was just aweful but the way the character was written was below par.
"There does not need to be an origin story to any character for you to root for it. Take the Joker from The Dark Knight as a contraexample to that hipothesis." Hmm, I guess you right. In TDK, The Joker was Man of Mystery(and probably to himself) and he still kicked much ass. But one of my other concerns is how the story/plot is going to go for this movie. I mean, Are they just gonna Hand over Eddie Brock already as Venom? sorry if i seem impossible
I actually agree upon what you said. i still have a old copy of "The amazing Spider-man". It's the one where Peter Parker find's out that his parent's are not dead instead they were held captive in a concentration camp in Europe ( they were government spies). The title of this comic was "Venom attack's!! the amazing Spiderman" in which it show's how much of a bad ass villian Venom really is ( He beet's Spiderman up from the middle of "The Thanksgiving day Parade" to Macy's department store ) including when a clown try's to protect a little girl from him ( here's what they say)
Venom: " Don't be scared little one. We won't let Spiderman get you!
Clown: "Don't hurt 'em! please th-they're just kids..!"
Venom:" Hurt them? Sir, you wound us! Rest assured, we would never harm such innocent Angels!"
Clown: " I said don't touch her!" ( he sprays mace in Venom's eyes)
Venom: " Mace?" (he then put's his face into the clowns face) " Now that's not funny!" (the he sucker punch's the poor bastard). ( this comic book number is: "374" (February ,1992)
