@Dr. Detfink - I don't know if you meant it to be, but I found your comment to be patently offensive. Telling anyone that they should accept the status quo that is obviously biased towards men because they are going to move on when something else catches their eye is ridiculous. She voiced her opinion and you can take it or leave it. More than just men listen to her opinion and are interested in her take on things.

Sure chauvinism exists in comics, but acknowledging it is there and saying something about it can open some doors to a more even playing field.

I actually like hearing others opinions, even when they differ from my own.

The Comic Vine & Blair Butler pieces are produced with a higher quality than the standard "YouTube" videos in my opinion. They all read these comics and have opinions that I feel they state rather well. Not like some CumOnAss douche bag just rambling on with no real point. Weather you agree with them or not is another matter, but to say they're just doing it because it's the fad of the moment is, I think, being slightly elitist....

I didn't really think Blair actually made that big a deal about the Justice League reference. She kind of acknowledged what all the hub bub was about and moved on. She has a show called “Fresh Ink Online”. For her to just ignore what was happening “online” about something in a comic she was reviewing would be kind of weird. Being someone who hadn't read the issue, I was glad to hear her talk about it so I knew what all the fuss was about. But again, even if I disagreed with her on one point, doesn’t mean I never want to hear what she has to say again.

For example, I think that Bab’s chick on ComicVine comes off kind of shitty sometimes, and she even took a swipe a Blair’s looks in their Pod Cast last Friday, which I didn’t appreciate, but I’ll still listen to her reviews because I think their fun..

Detfink, if you were on the cover of a comic, and wrote the forward to another, you wouldn't even mention it on your own show? Really?

Hey Jose did you catch the highlight of those pretentious twats from Williamsburg @ Citifield wearing full suits in $375 seats as a homage to the season premier to Mad Men?

That night, the weather was 90 degrees in NYC and the humidity was nasty enough to grow gills.

If you're going to be "cool retro" do it in a club, any where else in the city. Doing it @ a baseball game doesn't make you cool, just puts a bullseye for 30,000 people to say, "Wow, that's really dumb."

Couldn't agree with you more. I'm still pissed with how she glossed over Cry for Justice. She did mention it was good, but spent a lot of her review on the stupid one page joke. And this is coming from a guy with a major crush on her!

Seriously? Any one who liked Ultimatum deserved to be tarred and feathered and dragged through the town streets. Ugh!

I am convinced the popularity of comic book reviews on youtube is getting out of hand. These reviews are more of finding something just to entertain or to provoke than to construct an interesting opinion.

Blair Butler's tirade on James Robinson for depicting Ollie and Hal as...well, Ollie and Hal still bugs the shit outta me. Then one week later pimping her cover on Booster Gold and her forward on Pax Romana. Note to Blair, chauvinism in comics is not going to bring down the world. It was a boys club long before you got into comics. It'll still be one after you move onto whatever is the hip thing 10 years from now.

Volume 2 Issue 3.5 and 9.5 both dealt with Lost.
