If it's crap ... We'll tell you
Sabretooth posted a statusThe Strength of a group is not determine by practical logistical #s but rather unity in the face of defiance:
I want to thank my fellow NYB&V members who have answered the bell time and time again as we continue year 3 of this monthly group. Every one played a role in helping piece together this 4 day extravaganza. The patience, poise, and consideration invested In giving each other time to communicate what works & what doesn't work with their work schedule, families, & the daily bullshit we all have to endure. Heed the words of Robert DeNiro in the Untouchables, "I'm going out there for myself but I get nowhere without the team..."
And so it begins, four nights of drinks, food, partying in celebration of NYCC...
Be aware: At Jacob Javits, mobile phone service can be dodgy. You may receive a text message minutes to hours after someone sent it. Don't be surprised if your mobile phone switches to roaming to which case you might want to pack your charger. Outlets are provided in the Press room in the sub basement. Tablets & laptops will have difficulty getting WiFi or wireless unless you buy $30 a day service, your wireless service can be severely hampered in certain areas.
Thursday October 13th Leaping Tall buildings at 230 Fifth (21 and over)
Thursday's NYCC schedule is light. Mostly seminars. It's usually the day for professionals, press, and the circle jerk from (4-7) which includes at least 9 of us. Some of us are coming from work (and have to work tomorrow). We also have members coming in from Berlin, Germany and non-spill guests. Therefore, we won't keep people out too late.
Itinerary
8p- whenever: 230 Fifth located on 5th Ave & 27th street. website
Closest subway route: N,R from Herald Square downtown to 28th street. Otherwise 20-30 minute walk on a nice day from Jacob Javits.
and just in case of rain, no worries, this is one of the two indoor
main lounge areas with skyline views.
Comments: No cover, which in NYC means drinks can be pricey (even for Manhattan) but the view is worth it. Mojitos aren't bad & appetizers are so-so but let's face it, you're here for the view and it's easy to see how the skyline of Manhattan inspired super heroes once upon a time. Join us & feel like a superhero.

Comments: Perhaps the best hidden gem in the overpriced/horribly mediocre touristy Times Square/Theater District. Can't name too many spots that serves $5 martinis in Manhattan. We reserved the lounge room with trivia, prizes, flat screen TV, and will import food deliveries from various
eateries around the area for a night of trivia
and prizes.

Professor Thoms Brew & View Walking Dead premiere I recommend getting there as early as possible to reserve a large leather couch spot near the projection screen area. The earlier you get there, the better seating. Therefore, getting there at least an hour before hand is critical to every one's enjoyment. If tapas is not your thing, Thoms serves bar food.
