If it's crap ... We'll tell you
Hey ladies and germs, a new and badass CGI trailer for Hitman: Absolution is out! I must say, god damn, I had a "gasim" while watching this trailer, very impressive as a trailer itself; wonderful piece of art I say.
Now this trailer shows 47 at a motel tending to his wounds while a group of assassins hired by the ICA--47's employers--are out to kill him; their name, "The Saints." Before you ask, no this is not a Saints Row Hitman crossover. These group of female assassins are new to the series so I'm curious to see if you're going to take them out as badass as 47 did in this trailer.
Now, Hitman-purists, calm the fuck down! You do know that the previous Hitman games "Blood Money" had nothing but action in it's trailers, I don't mind it at all. What IO is doing is getting people interested in the game with some action, you still can play the game stealthy, now with this newer title IO has gone as far to make the combat system in Absolution a more viable option. With Blood Money whenever you reached a moment where you have to start a shootout in a level, you're most likely going to die, it's possible to go Rambo on a level but that's not really how I would play Blood Money because the shooting mechanics aren't that great; so I just end up reloading a save or the mission.
Oh yeah, the trailer: awesome! Check it out!
The trailer has already started some controversy. Keza MacDonald from IGN was offended by the trailer and she said "it fetishizes the violence and sexualises the women".
Has she played Rumble Roses? I've read her article, I can see where she's coming from but I think she got carried away with it.
Hitman series has done this sort of thing before with their ads and the core game and it's violence. I don't think it sexualities women, it's just ridiculous fun and entertainment.
I don't find women in tight bondage a turn on at all, 47 was defending himself! What do you want him to do?! Talk it out?!
Furthermore, she has the right to be offended and have an opinion about this but I think she's wrong to a point.
What do you think Ryan?
I agree with only one of her points. Stripping down to leather dresses doesn't exactly seem very practical for assassins. Other than that though I feel like she is just reaching for reasons to criticize.
Yeah, I'll agree with that too, it was a bit ridiculous but the Hitman series doesn't really take itself that seriously. There are some pretty funny Easter eggs and unintentional humor.
