If it's crap ... We'll tell you
Yes this is as bad as it sounds. Zac Efron, all singing all dancing, star of the infamous High School Musical series of movies has been in rumoured talks about taking on the role of Akira's main protagonist, Keneda in the new live action remake of one of the best and well loved animes in existence set to be directed by the Hughes Brothers and based in a Neo NYC.
I'm not going to be a total asshole to Efron just because I'm jealous of his success, not talent, and the fact that he could bone nearly any woman on the face of the earth, with his stupid smug face, no because there is something far worse lurking behind the scenes of this film and that is it's rating. That's right folks it's a PG-13... This pretty much means that they're going to keep the visuals, minus exploding heads, keep the teens with super powers and military testing bit and just throw the rest of the script in the bin like last nights used durex.
To be fair I have a gripe with this movie even being made. Hollywood will never learn that live action adaptations of animes never, ever work. By changing the film you immediately alienate the fans of the original while at the same time creating spoon fed bullshit that not even the average joe movie watcher is going to like all while trying to make it "appealing to the kids", case in point Dragon Ball.
