If it's crap ... We'll tell you
Just saw X-Men: First Class- I felt O.K. about it. The setting was cool. Didn't hate or love it, but it was interesting enough for me to leave the theater feeling better than I did after 'Last Stand' & 'Wolverine'. I agree with Carlyle on ACOCO when he mentioned the next films taking place in the 70's-80's(...Dazzler?....meh,) with Sentinels, or in the "Days of Future Past" storyline. It would be cool to see surviving mutants being hunted by Nimrod.
X-Men 1 totally skipped the part where mutants were feared and hated by everyone?
Did you watch the movie?
We have the origin of Professor X and Magneto.
We have the "origin" of Wolverine.
We have 3 movies dealing with the progression from "RAAAAAAAAAAWR FUCK MUTANTS" to "Well, Ok, they aren't ALL bad since one of them is working for us in the White House. But you still gotta watch em 0_o"
What more do you need?
I'll admit, I'm not very into X-Men like the rest of you Funny Book Boys are (:P), so for me I'm thinking...what else could they really do with it that story that's already been told so many times? I mean at this point, it'd just be fanservice for people that just want to see their favorite character or story arc on the big screen. There's only so many ways you can recycle the same old "ZOMG Mutants = Racism Symbolism ZOMG" story before it just gets very...meh.
