I think the real question is, looking at that list above, is what is going to sneak up and surprise us in 2011? Because I sure hope something does. Thor, Captain America, Green Lantern, X-Men. They are comic book movies and they may have varying degrees of bad assness, but let's be honest, we know what these movies contain before we buy a ticket. Same for Pirates, Scre4m, Panda, Transformers, Potter, Fast and Forgettable, etc. Everything up there is a sequel, or based on an existing property, which takes a lot out of it for me. Nothing unique or original or requiring too much thought. It makes me sick. The sad thing is I will go see these movies with the rest of you, I will like some and buy them on DVD and tell my friends about my favorite parts. Hollywood will see the money roll in and original projects will continue being put into the shredder. Hollywood has been lobotomized and we were the next appointment.
Sucker Punch may be a nerds wet dream, but you know what, it's not a sequel or a teen book series/video game/manga adaptation. I look forward to it greatly. Also want to see how Immortals turns out.
Sucker Punch, even though I'm not a fan of girl power (Not that I have anything against women's accomplishment) it looks awesome with this dragons, giants and Snyder Slo-Mo, yes I like his Slo-Mo in yer faces, bitches!
