Permalink Reply by Einrick Quiznos on March 8, 2012 at 9:54am In the old country, we had a simple way of settling our disputes and problems. I feel their uses in internet moderation can be proved useful:
1. If two users get into an argument or heated debate, the moderator or admin shall intervene between the two, and have them settle their dispute in a Cage match, with 1 single knife dropped in the between them. The winner of the argument is the one who lives.
2. If there is a case where a user is found guilty of trolling, than that person shall be pitted against a real, live, adult Bridge Troll. They shall settle their dispute in a Cage match, with 1 single knife dropped in between them. The winner is the one who lives.
3. If a person keeps derailing a topic in the forum, than that person shall be pitted against a necromanced Randy "Macho Man" Savage. They shall settle their dispute in a Cage match, with 1 single knife dropped in between them. The winner is the one who lives.
4. If a person is being racist, they shall be pitted against 10 people of the "race" they were being racist towards in a cage match with 1 single knife dropped in between them. The winner is the one who lives.
5. If a person is showing lude photos or pics, that person shall be pitted against the photo itself in a cage match with 1 knife dropped in between them. The winner is the one who lives.
6. If a person is found guilty of being nice or kind to another user, he/she will serve the punishment by receiving a hug, kiss, or pat on the ass....or they will be pitted against the other user in a cage match, where a knife is dropped between them. The winner is the one who lives.
Honestly, the old country ran very efficiently with these institutions in place. I can't quite place how they aren't somehow in affect in present times.
