Batman + superpowers - one dead parent - family fortune = Spider-Man. I think having some actual depth and weight to his origin is a step in the right direction for the franchise.

Permalink Reply by Flounderboy on February 7, 2012 at 7:21pm I don't really mind the suit....except the eyes...but it's impossible to get expressive eyes in a real life spiderman suit so I can't blame any of the movies for it. In my opinion Garfield looks like he's going to be a better Peter Parker than Tobey Maguire. I also like how they're focusing on Peter's smarts and humor this time around. I can't wait to see what the action sequences are going to look like on the big screen. My only concern really is the Lizard. I'll piggyback off of what Hector said about the Lizard having a snout. The lizard is supposed to be more creature than man when he transforms so there's no reason to design him with a humanoid face....go full beast mode! It may seem like a little thing but it's really messing with me. The trailer left me feeling like even the studio isn't confident in the way he looks (with all of the Lizard's footage being quick cuts or shots from behind). Leaving the lab coat on would have been a nice touch as well but it looks like they missed that opportunity too....

I saw this trailer this morning and I thought it looked spectacular and mind-blowing.
I wish The Lizard had a snout instead of a human face and I still don't like Andrew's Spider-Man suit.
