If it's crap ... We'll tell you

Aaron posted a statusThe guy who made this is also the writer of the new film Chronicle which came out a little while back. It basically sums up this comic book arc and what it really meant to the comic book world in general. I liked this a lot and hope he makes more of whatever pops into his head so come on by and say your piece of how great/fucking disastrous it maybe to you. Your opinion should bother someone somewhere might as well be here instead the one girl brave enough to treat you as human and regrets it now.

Permalink Reply by Agent_O on February 22, 2012 at 7:35am damn I was just gonna post this hilarious vid. He actually coulda been a lot more ruthless with his critique. dude was on point though with alot of the utterly wack ideas and plot points that went on in the overall story. his overall message hit the nail on the head about comic book death. The "big 2" abuse the fuck out of killing and bring back characters. It stopped being enjoyable a long time ago.

Permalink Reply by Agent_O on March 9, 2012 at 1:08pm go back and read my post again bruh. never said Marvel was exempt from pulling comebackfromthedead BS. I said "the big 2"=DC and Marvel are both guilty as fuck for pulling that shit. Stop trying so hard to defend Superman's honor or something. He's just a character in a comic book and everyone will have their own opinion about him. Stop dude.....smh...just stop.
Permalink Reply by Thanagarian Snare Beast on March 9, 2012 at 1:31pm Holy shit you nerds are ornery these days. Whatsa matter, cant handle the fact not everybody is sucking Max's smarmy dick?
Permalink Reply by Agent_O on March 10, 2012 at 5:21pm ummm...no. I'm pretty sure that someone can agree with another individual's opinion and not be automatically dickriding. You raised valid points in your posts too. Supes has gone through some emotionally damaging shit, His powers aren't boring, its what some of the writers do/or dont do with his powers that can make them seem boring.
Unfortunately Marvel got away with their retcon (because in a nutshell I don't think she was originally supposed to die at the end of the dark pheonix saga-if I remember correctly it's been a few yrs) and DC busted their own shit out the second Supes came back from being "dead" with that lame explanation.
Some of your posts in this thread and in some other supes thread were comin off on the obsessive side, but hey thats just my opinion. Always remember:
Permalink Reply by Thanagarian Snare Beast on March 10, 2012 at 7:31pm Uh-huh. Right. Obsessive. Sure. Pointing out flaws in peoples arguments and calling them out on hating a character they know nothing about is obsessive. Just like running a website about movies is obsessive.
And I completely agree, someone can agree with anothers opinion and not be dick-riding. So far nothing in this thread has proven that to be true, given all the Landis-ites are acting remarkably confrontational, but I agree.
Your the only one here who posted the video, and in said video, he say's -word for word- "The Death and Return of Superman forever broke death in comics," which is provably false. I don't think I'm the one who needs to calm down here, bruh.
Permalink Reply by Agent_O on March 12, 2012 at 10:47am I can't speak for any of the "Landis-ites" since my views stem from the content of the vid and not so much the person in the vid. I haven't even seen Chronicle yet as to say that I'm a fan.
I agreed with "The Death and Return of Superman forever broke death in comics" statment not only because of the point Landis made about the suspension of disbelief about death in comics being broken. But also the fact that DAROS threw the door wide open by showing that you could make this sort of thing into a gimmick, a profitable one at that. Thats where my anger about the overall story stems from (that some wack plot points/twists, and the super coma excuse). It's why the big2 have done it to death. They know now that they can kill off a headlining character, get a spike in book sales because of it, and bring the character back no problem because the fans will keep reading the book, because THEY know that the character is coming back too. Everyone just accepts it now as the norm. DAROS may not have been the first but its the one that everyone remembers. Its the one that got the ball rolling.
Maybe DAROS killed death in comics and maybe it didn't. I do know that it sure as hell cheapened it. It's how I felt when i first read the story back in the day, and it's how I still feel about it now.
Permalink Reply by Thanagarian Snare Beast on February 22, 2012 at 6:56pm Stupidest fucking shit I've ever seen. All of its critique against Superman is just retreaded old shit that reeks or "missing the point" and "I dont what I'm talking about."
Superman is boring because of his "boring powers?" Than basically 3/4 of the DC, Marvel, Wildstorm, Image, and Blackhorse universes or characters suck ass. Spider-man cant even fly, how lame is that?
And how in gods name does Superman not have problems? His father (and eventually mother) dying in his arms isn't a problem? His friend and confidant getting stabbed to death because of tribal warfare and Clark literally seeing the life leave his body isn't a problem? His best friend from highschool becoming a sociopathic crime lord that has dreams of brutally murdering him isn't a problem? Hell, he's got it worse than Batman.
They promoted Steel a lot because he was popular, not because he was black.
If Doomsday is the Hulk but grey than Spiderman is Superman who still lives at home.
Also, don't fucking tell me whether or not I care about Superman, Max, you pretentious ass.
Permalink Reply by Reilly Voorhees on March 6, 2012 at 12:09am Brody, you're long over-winded diatribe reeks of "missing the point" and "I don't know what I'm talking about" and don't you fucking insult Spider-Man by saying he's superman who lives at home, besides the fact that his parents are dead, he works at a newspaper, and their costumes have the same colors, does not mean they're anything alike.
Permalink Reply by Thanagarian Snare Beast on March 6, 2012 at 2:58pm I cant tell if you're trying to sarcastically insult me, pick apart my argument, or agree with me, but whatever the case you're doing it badly.
Permalink Reply by Reilly Voorhees on March 6, 2012 at 3:15pm Uh huh, yeah and Landis is the one that sounds pretentious? Riiiiight.
