If it's crap ... We'll tell you
Well if we have one of these topics in the General Movie Shit category we should make one about games. Rate the games either by the ratings you see on The Loading Bar or from 1-10 or whatever kind of rating you want. No matter if you played a game appeared recently or if it's a game that is a couple of years old tell us what you thought about it. Here we go:
I give this film a Full Price.
Mafia 2 - 7.5/10
This game had a lot of story and would I be wrong in saying it needed more? There isn't a lot of game in it either and the lack of any side content outside the main story missions (50% of the game consists of driving) is non-existent.
Still, what gameplay there is is fun and the characters/story were very interesting (Could have been developed more).
The ending... well... I felt it went out with a whimper.
Starcraft 2 = 9/10, watching the game isn't as interesting as Brood War and in regards to the campaign... I had no real problem with the writing. The last few missions on Char just felt like any other missions and the ending felt abrupt.
Really? i thought the last shot of the game was pretty dark.
That yeah, but I meant the last mission altogether. It was kill a bunch of guys... the end.
Playing unmodded S.T.A.L.K.E.R. again.
Quite unpolished and sometimes a tad bit clunky (plenty of mods to fix some of the things and increase the difficulty further), but it has such a great atmosphere and setting. Definatly worth a try if you like the soviet wasteland setting. The thing it lacks was a multiplayer mode, the only thing that really comes close to the feeling of this game is the mod for ArmA2 called Day Z.
I give this an 8/10.
L.A. Noire = Rental. Goddamn I wanted to enjoy this game and I was hopeful at first that would be the case, but despite the excellent atmosphere, voice acting, and the technology, the gameplay mechanics...I didn't like. The interrogation aspect of it I didn't like, they said it was dependent on visual cues, but seriously I tried studying their faces and what I thought were signs of lying were not the sort and even if you screw them up, the game is like "meh, we'll throw you a bone". The finding clues/evidence bit I did like, but got a bit tedious when I had to walk into walls and desks to find them. Shooting mechanics, they're competent and they were fine. The chases were an interesting piece as well, made me think of old detective movies like it's based on. Oh and sandbox?...lord, I wanted to go out and explore the world GTA style, but there was nothing there for you to do. Oh and the story, it was ok and some of the case stories are good, but it wasn't enough to keep me invested.
If you want to give it a try, rent it from Gamefly or a rental store if you still have them. Just don't think it's worth big money.
