If it's crap ... We'll tell you
But less than 40% of registered voters voted.
So not enough people voted against it, its just that the younger generation is stupid and doesn't actually go out and vote.
I know this and mentioned it but "fuck that it's still ok because it followed the democratic process!" seems to be the attitude.
When its voted in by a bunch of ignorant assholes, its democracy in action.
But when its deemed unconstitutional because of poor wording and the fact that it violates federal protections, then its the liberals destroying democracy.
anyone who disagrees with you is automatically an ignorant asshole?
When people vote, and things don't turn out your way the only explanation is intolerance based on hate?
less than 40% of registered voters voted? according to who, and what are you trying to say after we vote on something we are supposed somehow consider the potential opinions of those who didn't vote? Seems to me that if they didn't care enough to vote then they should shut up.
Yes the younger generation is stupid, and they agree with you, what does that say about you, and your movement?
Since everyone (outside of Rufus) assumes my thought process are governed by intolerance, and hate. Let me pose a question.
Do you honestly believe two women, or two men are equally qualified to raise children? Do you really believe there are no inherent benefits to having both a masculine, and a feminine influence growing up?
Who is and is not capable to be parents should be judged on an individual basis, not on a blanket sexual preference basis. I'm confident I could pull examples of scum of the earth heterosexual parents and contrast that to shining examples of parents who are homosexuals. I could also do the exact opposite, and find amazing examples of heterosexual parents and repulsive examples of homosexual parents. This leads me to conclude that sexual preference is largely irrelevant compared to other personal factors like compassion, financial security, love for the child, solidity of marriage, criminal background, etc.
Here are the first two things I pulled up on google:
you are ignoring the essence of my question.
I have said many times that I'm not against gay adoption. Because I think having two daddies is better than having no parents of any kind, but what I'm asking is everything else being equal, finances, mental stabilty ect. Are there no inherent benefits from having both a mom (female), and a dad (male)?
Inherently? No, I do not.
Well i'm gay so, yea I do think I would be fit to raise a child with a stable relationship and monetary situation. I grew up fixing cars and watching nascar and playing football. And now I walk with a hip sway have an effeminate voice and love dancy music because its catchy.
Did I ever say everybody who disagrees with me are stupid and ignorant, no. I said the people who voted no are stupid and ignorant, because many are. Seeing as the Vote yes on 1 movement was propagated by registered hate groups and flat out lies. Much like Prop 8 in california. The anti-homosexual lobby uses extream measures and exagerations in order to sway undecided voters. It's usually a "think of the CHILDREN" style of campaign.
Many people do not vote because well... quite frankly and sadly many people do not care. 34% of the states registered voters actually voted. And the issue isn't with young voters being "stupid" I used poor phrasing. It has to do with the fact that its difficult to get young voters to actually... VOTE for anything that isnt a presidential or gubernatorial election.
And no, there are no confermed benefits from having a mother and a father, just a mother, just a father, or two mothers or two fathers.
There is a massive benefit from having ANY kind of parental relationship. But most children form most social skills and quirks from peers, not their parents.
What a load of non-sense.
Nice too see you are being so civil and mature about it. If you are curious about the issue, there are any number of scolarly journals you could look up.
But im done. If the only rebuttle you have is to just dismis it as "non-sense" and offer no factual evidence, were done here.
Really, people. Are you surprised? We are talking about North Carolina.
