If it's crap ... We'll tell you
Apparantly you get a pretty lousy ending if you don't play multiplayer in Mass effect 3. This kind of reaks of EA policy.
It's even funnier when you consider project 10 dollar.
What's that again?
EA's mission to provide codes people who buy any of their games new, usually providing access to a dlc mission or character or something to try to persuade people not to buy games used. In this case, it allows access to multiplayer. Essentially, if you buy this game used then you cannot get a good ending without paying a $10 dollar fee to gain access to multiplayer. (Assuming this guy is correct about how the endings work.)
From Jarret Lee on the BSN forums:
I've seen some posts where there is a bit of confusion about the ability to get the "perfect ending" by only playing single-player, because if you don't play multiplayer (or the iOS game, Infiltrator) your Galactic Readiness stays at 50%.
You do NOT have to play multiplayer to get the best single-player endings.
Here's a bit of clarification:
Your ending(s) are determined by your "Effective Military Strength" (let's call it EMS for now) bar. Focus on that bar - that is your indicator of how well you will do in the end-game.
You can maximize your EMS just by collecting War Assets in the single-player game. There is a certain threshhold of these you would need to exceed (I can't get too specific) but I can tell you there are MORE than the required amount that can be gathered in the single-player campaign.
"Galactic Readiness" is a modifier you can improve by playing multiplayer. That is to say, if you play a lot of multiplayer, you will need less War Assets from single-player to fill up your EMS bar (ie it will balance out the requirements to account for you playing in both modes). Single-player game play does not impact that bar.
EMS = success. EMS can be maximized via collecting war assets alone, even if your Galactic Readiness is 50%.
I believe so, but there's really no point when you consider that none of your previous choices matter.
Apparently George is blinded by hate. Choices from mass effect 1 and 2 will effect if certain missions appear in your ME3 game and characters that survive will effect the outcome of some mission and how much Effective Military Strength you gain.
Yeah like that mission, I let the Rachni queen live in the first game so in this one I was given a mission which involved an encounter with one of my squad mates from ME2 and a exploration into a cave that has a heavy Aliens influence on how this level is designed.
The Rachni come back even if you chose to kill it retard.
