Jeremy Clarkson claims airport delays could be solved with 'a bit of racism'

The BBC Top Gear presenter claimed that the long delays at Heathrow border control were because immigration officials were no longer allowed to use their discretion to wave certain passengers through.

He said: “Nobody is waved through any more. The result is plain for all to see. There’s a two-hour wait.

“And the problem is: the only possible solution is to introduce a bit of racism.”

He added: “Nobody likes a racist. Nobody likes prejudice. It has no place at work, at play, or in government.

“But at Heathrow airport? Hmmm.”

Clarkson, who is now notorious for his provocative comments, used his Sun newspaper column to wade into the controversy over passengers facing queues of up to three hours at Heathrow.

He claimed that liberal attitudes prevented officials targeting only passengers deemed “high risk”.

“You can’t get that sort of thing past the bleeding-heart liberals. They believe that … a hook-handed imam with fire in his heart and hatred in his eyes is just as likely to whip up anti-western sentiment as Joanna Lumley.”

A spokesman for the Public and Commercial Services Union, which represents Border Force workers, said: "Clarkson is an idiot."

Clarkson, 52, has a long record of making controversial remarks. He provoked a wave of complaints last November when he jokingly suggested on BBC’s The One Show that striking public sector workers should be shot in front of their families.

i'm getting closer and closer to the point where clarkson gets a pass from me is wearing a bit thin but hanging on. so in his defense i give the following statement...HE HAD THE OPERTUNITY ON 2 SEPERATE OCCASIONS AND TOOK THEM..HE PUNCHED piers morgan IN THE FACE

but it is waining as an excuse to defend him i must admit

Piers Morgan was punched in the face? Is there video of this event?? I have to see it!

Yeah, I found that too, but I don't want to hear talking, I want to see punching! It must not have been filmed, or I'm sure it would be all over the internet.

I can almost guarantee you there will be no footage of that, unfortunately.

I would like to see some punching as well, whoever it may be. But I did get some satisfaction out of seeing how he messed up his finger because "he did it wrong".

I have a theory that we Brits like to publicly state our extreme hatred for Morgan as a subconscious defence mechanism. Since so many Americans watch him on TV we don't want them to think we're all total cunts, although it's likely 99% of them don't know half of the awful things he's said and done.

You have to keep in mind that Clarkson takes a kernel of "truth" and wraps it in the wildest and  most asinine argument to make his point come across. Look at what he's said on Top Gear alone about Truck-drivers being murders as a "joke" and the flak that he caught for that. Or the simple fact that he might throw something out as a mere joke, which people then jump on and make a much bigger deal about it than is needed.

Case in point: On an episode of Top Gear broadcast on 5 February 2012, Clarkson compared a Japanese Car/Camper van to a person with a growth on their face. A major UK charity that supports people with facial disfigurements, Changing Faces, complained to the BBC and Ofcom after Clarkson's remarks

What you do with Clarkson, is just ignore him when he says something that you don't agree with and laugh with something you do agree with. I mean, it's just the same thing that happens on LEOG or LDT or ACOCO. Sometimes, the joke is funny and you laugh, sometimes it's not and you just go along with the show and wait for the next joke.

Or in Clarkson's own words: ""There are more important things to worry about than what some balding and irrelevant middle-aged man might have said on a crappy BBC2 motoring show."

Kudos. Clarkson is a right wing shite, a product of public schooling if i ever saw one. the americans have Glenn Beck, we have him, the only difference is we don't take him as seriously....

How have I not heard of Stewart Lee before? This is some brilliant stuff!
