If it's crap ... We'll tell you
Longleke posted a discussionSpoiler Alert for anyone who have not seen Skyfall!!!
At the climax of Skyfall, while Silva is entering the chapel to kill M, he looks at the tombstone of Bond's parents. His father's name: Andrew Bond and Mother: Monique Delacroix Bond. In Casino Royale, Bond was about to reveal what M stood for before being interrupted by M. In this case M could be short for Monique. Also, every time M asks Bond about his past, he tells her that she already knows the sordid details.
I just find that it would be an Ironic twist to the Craig films in that everyone calls her Mom or mother, but she turns out to be his actual mother. It would be cool if he joined MI6 for the sole purpose of being with his mom but she disapproves. That could explain their antagonistic relationship since Casino Royale. I may be grasping at straws here but I kinda dig that theory.
What do you guys think?

Permalink Reply by MahMahAfro on November 13, 2012 at 2:11pm It's entirely possible that M might stand for Mother, but as for her being his real mother, not a chance. To be honest it's even less plausable than the theory that James Bond is just a code name and that's why he's played by different actors, though many choose to believe that one too (the fools...).
Also, I don't remember anyone calling M "mother" in the Craig movies. As for "mom," maybe you're thinking of when they call her "ma'am" as in "yes, ma'am."
Permalink Reply by Michael on November 13, 2012 at 2:18pm It was two M who was male. So i don't think it stand for mother

James Bond: I always thought M was a randomly assigned initial, I had no idea it stood for...
M: Utter one more syllable and I'll have you killed.
Permalink Reply by Chig Champa on November 13, 2012 at 2:49pm In the novels M stands for Miles, his full name being Miles Messervy.
The characters' name and code is based on MI5 and MI6's leaders signing letters and orders with the first initial of their surname.
Keeping that in mind, in the new films M could stand for Monique, but it would make more sense for her surname start with an M.
Since five of the six M's have been played by men, and the character was original a man, it would be a stretch for M to be Bond's mother, especially since they bring up Bond being an orphan often in the series.
But you never know.
