If it's crap ... We'll tell you
Longleke posted a discussionI think I might be the only one. Of course I read the whole thing in one sitting and by the time I got 3/5 of the way through I was just reading to finish it. I may need to read it again...
That being said, anyone like the movie better than the book? Why?

But, IDK! The movie was in a sort of 3rd person point of view(which allows you to look at others than the main character. Which i thought was great.) and the book was in 1st(which gave the reader more intel on how Katniss is feeling and her emotions.) Seeing how the author of the book personally worked on the script for the movie with the director, and had to cut things to make the film shorter, I still dont know. They changed some things in the movie that I instantly caught. At the end, we see Haymitch talking to Katniss about how she should act and say when asked about Peeta in the Games, I was relieved cause I thought that they werent going to talk about how it was all fake. But then, we see them talking on the train and then at D12, I didnt know if she told him yet or was going to after they had left on. So, with all that, Im sort of in the middle with this. CAPTAIN FUCK YOU OUT!!!!!!

Permalink Reply by Timmy Cupcakes on August 27, 2012 at 10:10am I liked the movie better than the book, but that might be because I am in the minority of people who didn't think the book was that great. The movie handled many parts better than the book thing, especially the final showdown in my opinion. Then again the movie also messed up some major moments going forward by having Haymitch be much more supportive of Katniss. It makes the character of Cinna a lot less important to the story. We'll see how the films handle that.
Permalink Reply by Id0ntknow on August 28, 2012 at 9:30pm I liked neither all that much. Timmy up there and I had a long discussion while we both read the damn things.
The movie was passable, I just found the cinematographer to be on meth or something. Couldn't hold the camera still, and it really tore my stomach up. All said and done, it did the book justice... I just didn't find the source material to be enough for me to really enjoy.
