For this topic i think of the ways that movies have started that grabbed your attention or set the mood or just started differently from a lot of other things.

Lord of War began the entire movie out really different by showing the life of a bullet being made and entering a body, that holds anybody's attention or shocks as well.

Watchment-explaining the superheroes and going through America's history was cool in a warped way, like the Lesbian Nurse kiss after WWII was over was a nice touch and Bob Dylan music playing throughout the whole thing.

Every "Pirate" movie beginning with Jack Sparrow has a fun start to them. When he shoots the bird from inside the coffin was fun to watch. As well as in the first when his boat sinks.

The Walking Dead starts out shocking with the Police chase and quick to Zombies.

Nearly every one of the James Bond movies always had fun starts.

Any more ideas?

Damn, I forgot how dark this was for a Disney film.

Love the score, so epic sounding, despite the rest of it.

oh WTF.....Limitless so copied this.

24 season 5's beginning is one of my favorites no doubt
The Godfather - The wedding scene, the guy asking Don Corleone for a favour, Michael Corleone explaining his family, and of course the music.

The Social Network - The discussion between Zuckerberg and Albright at the bar, the snappy dialogue, etc.

2001: A Space Oddisey - The monkey scenes.
Cant believe I forgot the obvious choice, as mentioned by TADASHI STATION, Saving Private Ryan.

haven't seen the Social Network the 2001 opening was great. Even in History of the World Part One was fun

Yeah, I was gonna put that one, my favorite Mel Brooks movie.

The chase for Trinity in the first Matrix is absolutely one of the strongest openers ever.

Less impressive but a clever idea nonetheless is the 1 minute opener for Predators. Waking in freefall was probably one of the best ideas in that movie.
